Hi guys. Just a quick one for me. I have been really good with exercise this week (but not as good with food!). Been managing 6 workouts a week and trying to mix it up quite a bit depending on how everything is feeling so I am getting some recovery workouts. The last thing I need now is an injury! My very first outdoor soccer game is Friday night. I am so excited but nervous about running for 90mins. I think I will be midfield and have heard that they do A LOT of running. Hopefully the adrenaline will see me through. My only problem is my tummy is a little sore. I woke up this morning to my 18kg toddler literally jumping in the air and landing on his bum right on my tummy. I was almost crying with the pain. It seemed better later so still did a pilates cardio dvd later but can feel it now so might have to go easy on the ab work for a while. Pity as it is my worst spot.
Anyway i am sending big motivation dust to everyone for tomorrow! May we all stay fit and injury free!

Thanks Leesa for keeping an eye on us

I did Cardio Circuit this morning. Man is it hard! She does a combination of Thump and Attack so it's really high impact. I went and bought my own cotton gloves to wear under the boxing gloves as the one's the gym supply are quite manky
The gym got new boxing gloves too and they are sooo much easier and more effective to punch with. I got alot out of today and Miss Tess was a happy little girl in creche too
Well....I am the next Lorna Jane junky I think. She has moved into my local shopping centre and I have already started.

krysallys: Hope you your tummy recovers!

Have a great rest of the week everyone, thanks for motivation dust krysallys.

OUCH Krys! I'm wincing for you! How is your tummy now?! Well done on the 6 workouts!

Heather, well done on your class! I hear you on the boxing inners. I'm actually contemplating taking my own boxing gloves as well!

Leesa - well done on your weight loss! And thank you fo stopping by. We're all thinking of you.

    How is everyone else going?

AFM - I'm EXHAUSTED at the moment with no real reason for it. I am still undecided about which trainer to go with. Rather annoyed on Sat that A wanted to do all upper body when I had requested he simply have upper body alternatives in case lower body wasn't coping. But we did some lower bod work and I came home without too much discomfort. But was also annoyed at amount of time spent standing around chatting and not working out. Double

D is back. No training this week though due to clashes in our timetables. No drama. Now I know he is back, I feel the dread of that centre returning... not good. Am sure I will be fine though once I get back in to it.

I went to my first pilates class last night! SO proud of myself!!!! It was made much easier by the fact that there was only 1 other person but I still did a "class"! And it was challenging as well which was great! I did some new things and am much sorer today than normal - but good sore!

I'm planning on hitting the treadmill later... and so need to get back on top of my diet! I've put back on the 1.5Kg I lost the other week!

    WELL DONE ON THE CLASS!!!!!!

(Don't know what to do about the trainer issue though. Does D train from a different gym or location?)

Hey girls! Hope you're all still moving! I'm going to try & do a double tomorrow - Combat followed by Pump. See how I go considering I'm still suffering from shin splints - going to have to get to a physio (as you girls have already told me!! I really was listening, they just got better for a while!).

Wanna hear some great news? You can see muscles in my arms!! I am so excited! I am getting a tricep bump in each arm!!

Bedtime for me & back into it tomorrow.

I know you're keeping your eye on us Lees, so I'm going to hit the 5 days training again this week & make you proud, 3 for 3 so far. Lots of love to you & your family xox

Just checking in and updating my week for you Leesa! 7 for 7 this week.

Monday - 10km bike ride then Circuit with lots & lots of running and sprinting up hills
    Tues - Combat
Wed - Lots more running & sprining around the oval for Circuit
Thurs - Pump class - new release - ouch, the shoulder track at the end is a killer!
Fri - More sprinting & weights for Circuit
Sat - 5km bike ride around the small hills around the block with DD in kiddy seat in back for extra reisitance
Sun - 1 hour bike ride to beach & back with DD

Bike riding IRL doesn't feel like exercise, it's so much fun! Sure beats those stupid bikes in the gyms & RPM rooms.

The gym has a running group that goes for 6 weeks and is on once a week with a PT. It's really cheap to join & at the end of the 6 weeks, there is a fun run - either 3.5km or 10km. I've decided to join up and have a go at the 3.5km run. Starts in mid-April. I'm scared but excited, have always wanted to be able to run so this is a good start for me.

Winter - I wish I could have your week! I don't even recall what I've done this week, just that I've been super tired all week! My gym also does those running groups - I hope you enjoy it! I want to be able to do a fun run too! But first I must get my back better! and I am so proud of your arm muscles!!!

I had PT with A yesterday. It was a BRILLIANT session! I worked hard and worked up a sweat! Lets hope there are more sessions like it! I felt empowered and strong! He has proven to me just how (physically) strong I am! I'm doing push ups on me knees, and exercises I never knew I could do with my injury. And today I did 30 min incline on my treadmill. And crunches, walking lunges, push ups... I struggled because I'm so tired but got there in the end!

I am feeling brilliant! AF is due any day and the last 5 months this has meant relapses with my back... but this time it seems to be holding up well! I am THRILLED! My back and core seems to be getting stronger and stronger! So, if I can get my weight down (my issue is intake!), then I should be back to running in no time!!!! WOOT!

I'm suppose to have my first session with D on Tuesday... not sure how I feel about that right now. A bit mixed if I'm honest. Will see what it brings...

I haven't posted much, but have been reading. All your posts keep me motivated!

I'm still restricted to walking. I did a 3.6km walk (to the shop and back) this morning and a 2km (to mums and back) walk this afternoon. Saw my physio again on Friday. Slight improvement and I can open my legs slightly with minimal pain now so she has given me a few exercises to do which will work the glutes. She also restrapped me which really does help and I have a tube band thingy to wear when I take the strapping off. I am itching to get back into pilates so physio has said give it a couple of more weeks and should be good. She wants me pain free before I return to it.

Once I get all settled back into that, I am thinking of doing Bikram Yoga once a week too. Has anyone done it? A couple of my friends do it and think is awesome.

Eluned, can you refesh my memory on what injury you have? Well done on the walking! Strapping is BRILLIANT! I was strapped for about a month last year until I got my brace (which I LOVE). I only use it when I need it and (touch wood) haven't needed it for a few months!!!

I'm having a rest day today girls because I am so so exhausted. I can't believe how fatigued I am at the moment! Obviously it is because AF is on the way...

I'm very apprehensive about PT with D tomorrow. I am so tempted to cancel but I won't. I promised I'd give it a couple of sessions with both trainers before I make up my mind either way...

    How's everyone else doing?

Re: Fitness chat and tips #2

MG, my pelvis is sore from the birth of DD. It's still very loose and I have a lot of movement in the joints. Strapping has helped immensely but it just feels like it's taking forever to heal.

Hollo, well done on the weight loss!

Hope you're feeling better Hollo! Tummy bugs are not good!!
Hope your pelvis comes good soon Eluned! Ouch!
MG - good luck with your PT session with D. Let us know how you get on....

I did the new Combat release today...I don't think its that hard... one of the instructors was billing it as super hard, with limited recovery but I don't know...maybe I wasn't working hard enough!

Well I signed up for the Running Group today! I now am committed to running 3.5km in a fun run at the end of May. Woohoo! I am excited! I'm not a runner, DH & I make ourselves go running but I always have to stop & recover with walks in between runs. I'm really wanting to do this 3.5km without stopping to walk. That's my aim.... Training doesn't start until mid April so I'll let you know how I go!

Been tightening up on my food (eating less and trying to make better choices) and did about 3 minutes worth of weights last night I didn't want to do more as I've strained my back (again!) and saw the physio today (she's given me pelvic floor exercises to strengthen my back! LOL).

I've taken one huge step for me though... I've made an appointment to see the local gym Not going to commit to anything - depends on times and prices - but will have a look and see what they have to say.

Otherwise, I'm going to try to start some walking again soon (before it gets uber cold) - but will have to see how my feet handle it *sigh*...

    go Winter!!
    Hollow not nice!

    Good luck to everyone else!

Excellent Winter! Well done! The trainer should teach you how to run effectively including your breathing which will help! Thanks for asking about PT - I'll come back to it!

Eluned - OUCH hon. I have hypermobility as well as two protruding discs. My physio tells me my hypermobility is pretty close to SPD without the pain factor (which I do get but it isn't directly related). I have found that clinical pilates and strengthening has been my saver. But it is a long road. I have been doing strengthening for about 10 months, pilates for about 6. I'm probably 100% better than when I started - but still not 100% if that makes sense. At the moment, I am in a good phase *touch wood!*. Although I CAN feel a relapse bubbling - so I am doing everything to prevent that!

Hollo - how are you doing?

WHERE is Nettie?! Come on girl! Where are you?!

Well, PT today. First session back with D. Was interesting in some respects. I did NOT want to be there. It just felt wrong. But I made myself walk in and do the session. D asked me what I've been doing whilst he was away. I told him I'd been doing his stuff plus my own cardio plus pilates plus "rehab" (which is essentially what A and I do). He asked what we do which I described and he was AMAZED. He couldn't believe that I'm doing these things (walking lunges, push ups, crunches, prone hold etc). He also said that he noticed a difference in my waistline when I walked in .
My session with him though wasn't overly hard or challenging. He wouldn't let me box today for fear of ruining my good run . I LIKE boxing! He did ask me if there was anything I wanted to try and I opted for bike so I would know if I could handle it before I pull mine out at home. My hip was fine, my knee hated it. Got to 5 minutes then quit. Other than that though, not really much happening on that front. Not sure how I feel about it all. I will give it a couple of sessions before I decide what to do either way - although at the moment, I am thinking that I might stick with one session a week with each trainer... my physio seemed ok with that although made me promise that if I have any more injuries caused by D that I give him the flick - fair call I thought!

MG you don't have to be loyal to D if you don't want to.... Woohoo on the waistline!

Hello Nettie!! Thrilled to hear you are doing a gym tour! Its a start!!!

Where do you girls get your work out gear?

I have looked around, Lorna Jane doesn't do it for me ( i could see my undies through a couple of their pants - ummm...I do lots of squats, I aint showing my bum off to the whole gym!!!), Rebel has great stuff but it's all really expensive, Target has rather unattractive gear at the moment, Big W has very little of anything and I haven't looked in KMart. DH says I have to suck it up and spend the money and get some good gear....but I'm in 2 minds.
