Man I've had a crappola week! I've had a sick child all week and have managed exactly ZERO gym sessions and 2 walks around the block with the dog. I feel so ick!! I'm desperate to get to the gym on Monday - DD better be better by then, 'cause I AM GOING & I AM GOING TO KICK SOME AR$E!!!
Make me drool girls about how sweaty you got this week - tell me what you got up to!!
i know how you feel winter, DD2 is sick also. not super sick but sick enough that i didnt want her to spread anything. ( i have a sneaky suspicion she is sick from being in the creche though)!!!
i only did one session of pump and thats it.
i am really disappointed in that i am not loosing any weight! i keep plodding on gymin it when i can and not eating REALLY crappy food but its not shifting. its hard to put the time into loosing it when you have little kids. (or is that just an excuse?)
Well let's just write last week off
I didn't go to gym all week, went for a couple of long walks which got my heart rate going. Today is a public holiday, my DH is working as it's his own business and cheaper than paying staff 2.5 times overtime for the day. So no gym today either.
Back into it this week. Have Tess booked in on Wednesday. May just do my own thing this time rather than the cardio circuit so I can hear if they need to contact me this time
Look forward to hearing what everyone else is up to this week?
i think i am gonna make the most of it and do step at 6.30 then pump at 7.30 tonight..that way at least i get a cardio and a weights in for the week. who knows when i will get back in there. i do have DD2 booked into creche on wed. hope everyone else is doing well and super motivated!
Sounds like we've all had ick weeks! Hopefully we can all get back into it properly this week.
Hollo - go you good thing! 2 classes tonight, fantastic!
Heather - hope Wednesday goes ok and Tess settles in the creche.
AFM - I finally got to the gym today and found it hard going. I just didn't have the energy. I tried my best, but I didn't feel light on my feet or strong or anything really. Was glad to get out of there in the end! But it's a start, am supposed to be going to catch up with a friend tomorrow, but will try and schedule it around gym classes so I can get some more exercise in & see if my energy levels will come up.
Add me to the ick week band wagon.... can we blame the Melbourne Weather?
My back's been playing up so I've been taking it easy to avoid a relapse. I did do 30 min yesterday on my treadmill and some lunges... now I hurt. I've taken anti inflammatories to no avail. Looking forward to physio tomorrow - might opt for treatment instead of pilates. Am sort of missing training with D (he's away) but not really. Is that bad? I am missing my accountability big time. But I AM enjoying my sessions with A - next one is Sat. I feel very torn about what to do on the trainer front... at the moment I am thinking of keeping both. D for cardio and upper body, A for lower body...
It's a new week girls. New challenges and new achievements! Look forward, not back, and then you won't miss the awesome opportunities presenting to you! (and you won't run into the back of a parked car smashing all your teeth like the guy running in that health fund add! )
So sorry about your back playing up MG. That's not good. Good on you for keeping at it though. I don't know what you should do about your trainers...D vs A - which do you feel in your heart of hearts is going to be the best for you? Can you keep both of them? Would that work?
I weighed myself at the gym today & then checked it against my assessment at the start of January. I've only lost 3kg, but I have lost 5% body fat. I'm pretty happy with that. The scales might not be moving but it's nice to know that the fat IS coming off. Just got to keep going.....
Is anyone else exercising out there???? Where are you all???
wow winter thats great. You're turning the fat into muscle. So you're doing great there.
I bought a pilates DVD yesterday, it comes with a resistence band too. Is 50min incuding warm up and cool down and upper, lower and abs. Quite good, could feel it where I was meant to but didn't kill me.
Winter - well done on the loss!!! I *could* keep both trainers I guess... it is what I'm leaning towards...
I had pilates tonight. Physio is concerned I'm overdoing it on the lower body and agreed I was tight. She gave me a few exercises to do which helped. But a lot of work left to do I'm afraid. Lots of stretching and I have a couple of new pieces of equipment to help... I hope it helps. My friend at work who has the same injury as me (except she's been fighting it for 3 years) has had another bad relapse and is heading to see a surgeon for a consult... she is seriously considering surgery. I'm so not wanting to go down that path!!! I HAVE to fix this! I HAVE to strengthen my back and hip! I HAVE to lose the weight to take the pressure off!
shellbell.. good work with the DVD. glad to hear you were feeling it. i noticed you said that it didnt kill you thats good but you should try to push yourself too. i have never used a DVD before but if they are anything like a class there will options for you to increase the work load. :-)
winter... awesome work! i am looking forward to my weigh in on the weekend.. i better have lost something though !!!!! i have worked pretty hard this week.
MG... you'll get there. baby steps! as long as you stick with your training you will strenghten your hip and avoid that surgery.
everyone else.. keep up the good work!
AFM... i did attack today for the first time in about 2 1/2 years and i LOVED IT!!! it was really hard, not as hard as i remember it being the very first time i ever did it. i did use a lot of the low options but then stepped it up when i felt i could. so hopefully that will be a regular class for me!
Went to gym on Wednesday. I just did a 40min cardio thing on my own. Went on the cross trainer, treadmill and one of those bikes that you are in the sit down postion and your back is resting on something. So it was quite good, worked up a sweat.
I have booked Tess in again for next week and will do the cardio circuit class, as she went well in the creche this time.
Hollo: I love Attack! It's addictive isn't it. Hoping to get to that class on Sunday.
MG: Pilates is great for the back, hope you can avoid surgery. Sounds like having two different trainers may work for you
Shellbell: I have never done a workout by DVD? Are they good?
Winter: You sound like you are going great, those figures sound good!
How is everyone else going? Hey Leesa, hope you are ok, it seems like you are going through a really tough time at the moment
Well, let's hope this week is going much better for everyone than last week
Ok girls, I'm stopping in to tell you I had the BEST week ever!! I managed to go to the gym EVERYDAY!! I am totally knackered which is where I want to be at the weekend so I can enjoy doing nothing instead of feeling like I should be doing more.
Mon - Circuit
Tues - Gym session
Wed - Circuit
Thurs - Combat ( I smashed this! Energy levels were through the roof!)
Fri - Circuit
I am desperately hanging out for Monday now, so I can do Circuit during the day and then I'm going to the Combat launch for 43 in the evening. So excited!!
No time for personals, just know that I'm thinking about you all, Shell & Hollo & Leesa & Heather & MG & the missing CQ & Nettie & Leckert & Krysaliss & JungleMum & Berenice & anyone else I may have missed but is moving and grooving and shaking their way to a healthier lifestyle!
Hi girls, I thought it was time to bite the bullet and join in this thread if that's ok with everyone. I am wanting to get fit and lose a few kilos. Well, 7kg to be exact. I've lost my pregnancy weight but want to lose 7 more to get me at a nice BMI.
I have only managed walking a couple times a week as it's been scorching hot here recently. At the moment, I have a very loose pelvis which has been giving me some pain of a night time. I'd put up with it for four weeks until I went and saw a physio yesterday. Currently have my hips strapped for some support and mobilization. Working my pelvic floor is the key at the moment as while I have great control over it, it is still very weak. I am hoping to return to Pilates soon but can't do any mat work yet as I have pain when I open my legs out. So walking is it for the time being.
I also need to have better control over my eating. Yesterday I ate an entire block of chocolate
Winter - well done on your efforts!!!!!! YOU GO GIRL!
I've had a slack week. I've been sore (and had the week from hell with work and home) so elected to not push it this week. I did go to pilates on Tuesday and am now getting ready to start CLASSES! OMG, I am freaking out! I'm pretty sure I've told you girls about my fear of groups... but the class I'm going to is normally pretty quiet, so I am going to give it a go.
Today I had PT with A. Not very happy. Too much standing around and not enough working out. I didn't even work up a sweat! AND, I've pinpointed the exercise that is causing me grief... so will let him know. I have PT with D this week (maybe, depending on a few things) and want to have another session with him before I make any decisions about which way I am going to go. But at the moment, I'm leaning more towards D. A just has NO CLUE about so much! Whereas D HAS researched my injuries and what I should be doing and what I should be avoiding. BUT, I also got a phamplet in my letterbox yesterday detailing D's new business... which is obviously PT (group sessions). I'm worried that it means he is going to be withdrawing from the gym and am worried where that leaves me. I'm pretty worried about it to be honest but he is suppose to be away still and so I can't discuss with him... why do I have to have so many bloody hurdles????
I've started an exercise journal. A good old journal. I write my daily goals, what has happened in my day, food I've consumed... I am enjoying that. My eating sucks at the moment though. KFC for dinner tonight
Eluned! I love walking it's great excersise, especially when you have restricted movement like you have at the moment.
MG: A great idea about an excersise journal, sure brings it home to you when you read over it. I would be pretty scared to do a journal on my diet and so on
Winter!
I did Attack this morning and had a ball! The guy that takes it is great and he has 2 other guys he is showing. It's a really popular class which suprises me for Sunday morning. So many different shapes and sizes doing it which is great to see.
Yesterday we walked and walked. Went to the Collingwood Children's Farm and chased the kids around there then came home and walked to our local shops (about 2.5km round trip), so we have had a wonderful family weekend throwing in excerise where we can in any shape and form. Also go the boys a soccer ball each so have been kicking that around with them too!
I am a little curious..anyone in Melbourne's West?
Hope everyone has a great week! I'll pop back in again later in the week hopefully telling you how well I went in Cardio Circuit on Wednesday.
Starting fresh tomorrow though as I have an appointment with Sandra Cabot and will ask for some advice from her about weight loss... Hopefully then I'll be more motivated!
Yay for all of you who are going great guns! Keep it up!
to everyone else!

Sorry i've been MIA lately - mum isn't doing too well as you may have read in my latest boohoo thread.
However I wanted to pop in and let you all know I'm still lurking and keeping an eye on you ALL!!!! .
AFM - I've uploaded my weightloss journey pics onto FB. PM me if you'd like a look (and not already a FB friend). I'm one kilo under my goal weight, so I'm 59kg. I tried on size 10 skinny cut jeans today and they fit like a glove. Launching the new Pump and Attack at my 'usual' gym tonight - they should have launched it at least a fortnight ago , but nevertheless it's getting sorted tonight. I have Pump tracks 1,2 and 3 and Attack tracks 3,4, 7, 8, 11 and 12. All my favourite songs too so I'm happy with that.
MG - so update me about your PT Which guy have you chosen?
Winter - Awesome week indeed hun - lets double it and do it again this week!
Heather and Hollo - awesome choice with Attack girls - you rock!!
Nettie - I'm cracking the whip - get back to it hun .
