If you can't control yourself when those foods are around then you need to make sure they aren't easily accessible.
I am the same, if there is chocolate then I won't stop until I have devoured the entire block so I just have to stop myself from buying it in the first place.
It does get easier. Once you get over the first couple of weeks you find yourself craving these things less and less but the initial part is really, really tough!!
