Just PM'd Lucy my stats - weight is 85.5 and I would like to get to 75kg. Less would be nice but I will reassess when I get there (LOL - was about to type "if" I get there!)

My goals are to weight 75kg by the end of March - at 5kg a month I think that do-able.

I am doing weigt watchers and am a member at my local Contours gym, so I think I have all the "support" I need - plus all of you guys!!!

Thanks for all the stats that are coming in. My spreadsheet is getting fuller by the hour!

Any scales will do: digital or old fashioned. I'd probably suggest weighing in at the same time each week (ie Weds AM, when you get up, after you have done a poo!).

Rory, you sound like a woman with a plan on a mission.......go for it!

I would love to join in - will PM my stats when I get home this afternoon... you guys may be just the motivation I need... I have been seeing my personal trainer 3 times a week and whilst it brought about change it wasn't as good of a change as I expected which leads to disappointment and then lack of motivation!

Argh bugger it, I'm in too... will measure up tonight. Need to go buy scales and tape measure!

I need to lose 35 kilos. At least. I'm in denial. I weighed 75 kilos before I met XH. I'm sure I'm well over 100 now... My "healthy" weight range is 51-64 kilos (although I never weighed that light, even when I played state level basketball). My aim will be 70 kilos, but lighter would be good.

I have some psychological issues with my weight. I don't want to lose weight, because I then become attractive to me, which for me is "dangerous". Being an incest survivor isn't easy - and I've had years of counselling and psychotherapy to help deal with it.

This will be the first NYBTC for me, and my mental way of doing it (for the first time) is to GET HEALTHY. For me, this won't be about losing weight, it's going to be about HEALTH. My health is seriously screwy and I need to fix it now, so that I'm going to be around for my boys. My boys need me. God help them if anything happens to me - you all know what the XH is like. Let's just say he was convicted in October of assaulting DS2....

So this is about ME getting HEALTHY! I'm going to think about goals etc and get back to you Lucy. Sorry for the waffle on. Sometimes it's hard to take those first steps.

Yay Divvy! That is the best way to think about it - you are doing it for your health! How you look is a secondary concern really.

I will join in after I have bubs so is it ok to start sending measurements post-birth as if I start now they will just keep getting bigger!!!

maybe I should join in too? There is only so long I can blame my weight on just having a baby!

Will send through my details as soon as I find the tape measure......

These are things that I have decided to do to:

*need to try and drink at least 2L water
    *cut down meal portions
    *make sure I eat breakfast
    *cut down on sweet things
    *eat more fruit

    My goals are:

*to be able to put my engagement ring and wedding band back on my finger
*be able to buy some new clothes for my birthday in June
*increase my sex drive as I don't feel very sexy at the moment

I think that's all for now, I really just want to feel better about myself more then anything, and I'm finding that been over weight makes it really hard for me to like myself.

    hugs xoxo

Oooh I did this last year and it was a great way to start the year off!! Not sure I can really get into it this year though Might have to join you Nai in a post-baby health kick.....Lucy, how long does the NYBTC go for? From memory it was only 2-3 months last year which might not be long enough for me to really join in? I might just have to cheer from the sidelines and use all of your successes as motivation.....starting with a big whoohoo and for Divvy! Health (physical and mental) is definitely far more important than what you look like or what size clothing you wear.

Arrrggggghhhhh!!!! I soooooooo have absolutely NO willpower!!!! I have barely started this weightloss thing and I am already falling off the wagon! We went for a drive up the coast today and because of the horrific traffic, it took what normally is a 1hr10min trip to being 1hr50mins. DD was whining and DH was hungry and said he couldn't wait (til we got to dads and for him to make us lunch!) So we ended up getting maccas for everyone. I SHOULD have had a healthy roll, salad or meal, since they have those choices now, but they're sooo much more expensive! So I ended up with a cheese burger meal, with sprite, not even diet coke! There were good choices I could make, but I chose not to...WHY OH WHY!!!!!!!!!!!! Ugh, I so need to change my thinking! No I need to change my will power somehow. I know these things, I know about healthy foods and how bad for me these things are, WHY do I eat them????

Got out the Wii fit to weigh myself. Been a long time since it has been used have managed to lose 2 1/2 kgs since the last time, so that is good.

Going to be be hard though, I received some rather nice choccie for Christmas and there are some other foods left over. Have chatted to DH about it, so he knows I am doing it. Also I am using the new year to really start sticking to a grocery budget, so some meal planning and not having extra to eat rubbish will be helpful.

Lilias - was like you today, we had to get lunch and there is not a huge amount of choice where we were. So Macca's it was. I am afraid to try their salads for some reason, so next time we go there I will give them a go.

Kel, don't beat yourself up babe. At least you had a cheeseburger not a big mac, it couldve been much worse.

I will get up the courage to weigh myself etc tomorrow and send my stats to you Lucy. I started last year and lost a couple of kgs but then sort of petered out. Having a teenage DD who weighs what I did/should is quite motivating if not depressing LOL

    I'M IN!!!!
I don't have a heap to lose, but it's those last few stubborn kilos that are really getting me down. And I have a goal to get fitter and firmer, so this should be the right start to a new routine.

Will send through my figures in a few minutes.

yeh I rocked, it gave me the huge push start to continue through the rest of the year (ok I had a hand with 10kg of my loss due to stress) - but check out my ticker now!

Having a mother who is a Size 6-8 and at most 50kg with A cups is depressing too *sigh*
I got the short genes from mum and the fat genes from my father. LOL!

If it is any consolation, I had a shocker yesterday too...........we have far too many left over goodies from Christmas!
So plan for today is to collect up ALL the snack foods (which are my greatest weakness) and ALL the chocolates and put them in a green bag and then put them all in the garage fridge.

That way they are available for the kids, for genuine treats, but way out of picking reach for me!

I will also actually be chucking some food out. Its wasteful, I know, but it gives me real sense of power to be able to throw food in the bin.

So today girls, maybe get tough on your fridges and pantries: If it is a type of food that not going to help you, bin it or give it away?

Roryrory, I too am on Weight Watchers, joined online and so motivated this time!!!! The site is EXCELLENT and they had a special going so I joined. I am hoping to lose 15 kilos.

I am on my 4th day of WW and walked between 1 to 1.5hours per day! I am drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day and not even tempted with all of the rum balls in the fridge! I have put up an old photo of myself (skinny one!) on the fridge so everytime I go to the fridge...I see it and it helps motivate me! That might help some other people, just an idea anyway. I haven't been the weight on the fridge for 12 years!
