Arrow New Years Body Transformation Challenge 2009!

    Hi all,

Following on from the success of last years New Years Body Transformation Challenge (thanks Lea!) we have decided to run this challenge again, as so many of us have weight & fitness related New Years Resolutions!

So, if you would like to shed to weight and gain some slimness and generate a little fitness this year, please feel free to join in!

I know that last years New Years Body Transformation Challenge was a great start to a few of us (Schaz, where are you?) to kick start a healthy year, and for me personally, it was the start of an amazing years journey to health.

How does the New Years Body Transformation Challenge 2009 Work?

The challenge is split into two parts:
    1. Percentage of weight lost
    2. Total centimetres lost
3.This challenge will run for 12 weeks.

So we are looking at a challenge to shed unwanted weight, but also to gain some fitness: the best way to lose cms is to exercise!

What do you need to do:
    1. Get motivated and have a plan!
    2. Get yourselves your bathroom scales and tape measure ready!
    3. PM or email me your current weight and measurements. (Please note that these will be 100% confidential. I have lost 33kg myself, so I truly understand the embarrassment!)
    3. Start eating healthily and taking more exercise
    4. Watch the results come in.....

Results will be posted weekly, on a Thursday. All of your weight and measurement figures need to be pm'd or emailed to me by Wednesday night to be included. Actual weight and measurements will not be posted. I will only post weight, %'s and cm's lost.

Please weigh yourself in KG's, and measure, in cm's, bust, waist and hips. (So you will be sending me 4 figures each week) When you email me, please remember to let me know your username!

I will also post a weekly challenge, to try and keep us all focused. It may be a simple food challenge, or it might be an exercise challenge, or it might be a nurturing challenge!

I have also set up a section in the BB Gallery for anyone who would like to post before and progress shots: this is totally optional.

BellyBelly Gallery for 2009 Body Transformation Pics!

At any time, please feel free to post in here with your successes, your struggles and your wins!

If anyone has any questions at all, please post them in here.

    Good luck!

Of course, wait till bubs is born. In between times, you can focus on health (ie drinking lots of water and getting a healthy balanced diet) so that you are in top top form for when you have a newborn to look after!

Ashlea, good on you! Email me your stats asap!

it seems the local weightloss centre isn't as helpful as i'd hoped. I have my weight and waist recorded but not my chest & hips. Lucy(or anyone really) tell me where to measure hips and chest? Is there a particular spot/point? Also, is there a good sale on scales somewhere coz mine are dodgy.

Okay I'm in! Will get some new batteries for the scales and PM you my stat's tomorrow Lucy!

I have set myself a personal challenge to lose 15 kilo's by my birthday in April so this is going to be a good motivation for me

Twin-monkey mama, Lucy's post on the first page of this thread tells you everything you need to know!

Ok, could not find my sewing style tape measure to save my life so used DPs belt and then measured the marks against a builders type tape measure!! Not the most accurate but will do for now! Have PM'd details to Lucy... it is quite daunting and liberating to do that. It makes me ill to look at the stats but liberated because I will get to see them going down!

    Stats:
    Current Weight 88kg
    Bust 101cm
    Waist 103cm
    Hips 115cm
History: PCOS, pre-diabetic on Metformin for insulin resistance

    My goals are:
*To get to 85kg by mid January if not sooner and then take it in 5kg increments (or decrements ha ha) until I reach 70kg... optimal for my height and age is 55-65kg but I really can't see that at the moment so will be more than happy with 70-75kg.
*To eat better so that when I go back to Uni (end Feb 2009) I have already formed good eating habits
*To stop procrasting and just do it (do you think Nike would sponsor me!!)
*To really do workouts when not with personal trainer rather than just walking on treadmill and convincing myself it is just as good

I thrive on not letting people down and some competition... sick I know but it has worked for me in the past to loose near 10kg (only to put it all back on plus some more!)

You need to get yourself a training buddy. Someone of similar fitness to train intervals with! Soemone who will crack the ****es if you don't turn up!

I would love to... but no one near me is similar fitness or body issues... maybe I will find someone through this and we can have a healthy competition online!

    Me too.
