Haaaaate to tell you but cakes, bikkies and slices are all junk. Even if you make it at home it's still full of sugar and refined flour.....which makes you feel like crap. I've cut all of that out of my diet lately and I can't tell you the difference in my HEAD. I can think more clearly, have FAR more energy and I'll NEVER go back

I'll join in too if that is ok. I'll start on the 1st. I have actually just ordered that book Sweet Poison from the library - tells you all about why sugar is reallyyyyyyyy bad for you and gives you strategies to live a sugar free life! Just need to wait till the bloody library opens again on the 4th and I'm off to get it!

I'll join in after 1 Jan too but I have a question. I'm going lactose & gluten free and it's a complete PITA. I order gluten free, cheese free pizza from Crust - usually have sweet potato, caramelised onion, roasted or cherry tomato and spinach - that's not "junk food" is it? It seems pretty healthy just convenient for someone to deliver it.

On that note, are Grill'd burgers junk food? What about burgers made at home?

I suppose shortbread is out too. I'll probably empty the tin before Saturday at this rate.

tash - junk food is what ever YOU decide it junk food...eg MacDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut...food which isnt cooked with any thought for healthy eating
Subsituting the junk food for healthier options like you said sounds wonderful...I might have to get onto that aswell

I'm in too! I have eaten waaay too mauch crap lately. Dark chocolate is my guilty pleasure.....

Maz, I am wanting to jump back on the raw bandwagon too. I found an old journal from 2008 when I did a raw detox for 30 days. I wrote a lot of info about my emotions and moods. So many times I wrote: 'I feel a great sense of elation today' and 'I have lots of energy today". Wow, I haven't felt like that in ages. I think I will only aim for 50% raw at this stage, up to a max of 75%. I have no intention of going 100% raw.

So, are most people starting on 1 Jan?

I'm in too, but will have to start on the 3rd, as I will have one grumpy DH if we don't have cake and ice cream for his birthday tomorrow. We actually rarely have take away, but it's the chocolate and biscuits I need to cut out. Oh and cake and ice cream too but you can't do that on a birthday
