Good on you for making the first step - admitting you need to do something and seeking help
Diet is a really good start. I don't think Tony Ferguson is the way to go. Weight Watches or Jenny Craig are much healthier options IMO and set you up for life long changes, not just quick fixes.
Can you hire a treadmill? Walking is a brilliant way to lose weight and maintain that weight loss.
I gained 10kg rapidly when I moved to WA 12 years ago. I'm a small girl so it was quite a shock. For the first time in my life I had to start watching what I ate and start exercising to get back in shape. I tried WW first and did lose weight but it was slow going. I wanted a quick fix so I did the very unhealthy thing and went on a hardcore Atkins Diet (no carb) which was closely monitored by my GP weekly. The weight just dropped off me BUT it was not a healthy option by any means. I became obsessed and my battles with dieting and weight loss began10 year I battled with my body image issues and I blame it on poor dieting choice - The Atkins Diet. Quick fixes often work but mess with your mind and don't teach you anything about making (real) lifestyle changes.
Sorry for the life story but I feel my background is relevant. Anyway, I took a lot of what I learnt from various diets and exercise programs over the years and feel I've finally found the perfect balance. Walking has been my favourite exercise that's always kept me in check. For many years I have joined gyms over winter purely to use the treadmill so I can keep walking despite the weather outside. I aim to walk for at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. If you can afford it, I think a treadmill would be a great start for you.
If you join WW or JC, you'll learn about healthy eating and portion control. You'll also learn the importance of 'feeding' your metabolism. Small regular healthy meals. Each time you eat your metabolism kicks start and begins to burn fat. Small, regular mealsAnd eat breakfast! It's the most important meal of the day.
I hope some of my rambling helps hon. I'll be standing on the sidelines cheering you on. You can do this, just remember it will take time![]()
