yep...not because I'm female and he's male, but because he is taller/stronger/less squeamish and I am shorter/weaker/a wussFor example he does all the cabling, electrical stuff, I put on more loads of washing (I'm home more). We both cook pretty equally, although I often let DF take over when I'm feeling lazy. WE clean the house equally, I prefer doing the bathroom and bedroom, he prefers the kitchen and mopping. DF will fold clothes more than me because he likes to fold things absolutely precisely. I will be constantly tidying and re-arranging the pantry and fridge because he leaves stuff in the wrong home ALL the time.
Oh yes, we have 'man jobs' around hereMowing, taking out garbage, electrical stuff (even changing lightbulbs when they die) and changing cat litter is DH's domain. Even the neighbours know it, seeing as I'm always hollering, 'I'm not doing it, that's a bloke's job!' from the other end of the house while DH complains that I'm just as capable of doing something as he is
But by the same token, the only time he ever cooks is when I'm literally bedridden with a bug or a cold, I have even been late for social things that I'm attending as I've had to feed DH and the kids (or at least have dinner prepared and sitting in the oven) first lol, so it works both ways![]()
Lol I think that's how our thing started... I was pg within a month of us moving into our first place together lol, so it just became habit for him to do it - he always says, 'You're not pregnant any more, you can start doing it!' and I just leave it until he cracks and does it himself lolololol
I'm eeeevil!
We have a divide.
DH likes gardening and I have a black thumb: DH mows the lawns, does most of the weeding and tends the vegetables.
I enjoy cooking and baking so do most of it, but when I really can't be bothered DH will or we get a take-out. When I'm very, very ill my mum comes to look after me so she cooks.
We both clean the house, as does DS. He makes the most mess so he can learn how to use a dustpan and brush!
I can wallpaper and paint, but DH likes doing that so does most of it. He also does the plumbing, fitting, central heating... he loves it. I don't really like the muddy cellar so he gets to play all he wants.
The cars are both DH's so he maintains them. I don't have a car so get out of it! (If I borrow his car to go away for a month I do look after it though.)
"My" jobs are changing the sheets on the beds (DH really struggles with this), the food shopping (which I do with DS and we enjoy) and the washing (which I am obsessive about: DH does his fishing stuff but I maintain control otherwise).
We both go out to work so we both share most jobs in the house.
I was just thinking about this yesterday - DH cooks on the BBQ and cleans it, but he didn't clean it last week and bought BBQ wipes home from work on Tuesday night so I cleaned it on Wednesday, thinking "hang on I've been conned into doing his job" Other than BBQ duties, the only thing that's divided by sex is bfing DS2 and that 'cause I got the boobs!
I cook & clean most of the time, DH vacuums, mops and washes up if I ask. I don't often ask him to hang out the washing 'cause I've got my system and I actually enjoy hanging the washing out, but he'll do it if I ask.
ETA: I do the kitty litter most of the time. I got out of it when TTC and in 2WW and when pg, but after the boys were born Dh was happy that I could do it again. Unfortunatly it did not become a habit for DH to do it - I had to remind him during those times.
No- except when stength is required as my H is stronger than I am.
Outside I put out the bins & mow the lawns most of the time but he digs holes, cuts wood and we both do veggie gardening.
Inside I generally do all the washing and cooking but that's because I am home (and prefer it done my way). We share the cleaning. He does the cat litter.

We do as well. Not because it's a 'male thing' to do, or a 'female thing' to do, but there just the jobs we do best. I'm a better cook, a better cleaner than dh is. DH is much better at mowing, cleaning the pool, doing the plumbing etc than I am.
I do most the inside stuff...DH helps alot with the cooking and on weekends he cleans the kitchenHe takes care of the outside

Nope. I take out the rubbish and fix things around the house because he is not a D.I.Y guy! I do the garden because i love it. He vacuums and mops the house and we both cook. As for the lawn? theres only 1 little patch of grass but generally he does the mowing only because i seem to be doing everything else!
Yep....
Oh wait... hang on... I mean no.
Oh, well technically, yes... us woman do everything around here!
Our jobs are dividde based on who is available at the time it needs doing. Shel does the mowing because she gets our neice to come look after Jazz for an hour while shes mows. Shel cooks because I'm only home to cook one week out of 3. I clean the kitchen and pack the dishwasher after dinner, and I clean the bathrooms on the weekends. If I'm on late shifts I put washing in the machine and on the line before work and Shel takes them off when they're dry. If I'm on earlies Shel does the washing and I take it off when I get home. Most lightbulbs get changed by Shel because I'm only 5ft1, most phone stuff gets done by me because Shel just despises the phone jobs.
