I usually give the girls' plush toys a run through the washing machine on cold wash to preserve their colour (and they're sometimes made/contain synthetic fabrics that I fear might shrink or warp in warm wash), then just peg them up by an ear/tail/whatever on the clothesline and let the sunshine do its germ-killing work.
