I just realised I had written a huge reply a while ago and it mustn't have posted !

I think I had said that I have been cutting people out of my life that don't make me happy. If they make me uncomfortable or I try to change who I am when I am around them then they aren't good for me. I surround myself with people who make me happy and support me.

I can't else what I wrote but I think that was the main idea

This is an interesting thread Butterfly

I personally believe that we are a work in progress! We don't necessarily arrive or know who we are as that changes with our life experiences and how we deal with them...

I know with age I have grown more comfortable with myself - that has been with age for me... I am more comfortable & able to speak my mind (hopefully kindly - but assertively) & accept that it is my truth but it may not be heard as anothers! That once would have caused me concern - but with growth of my Being I know that kind honest truth is really all we can share if we are to be authentic!

I find dismissiveness of others beliefs, judgements of beliefs/thoughts/opinions to be incredibly small minded & I believe dangerous to our community & society. More and more I watch the evolution of that thrashing about of righteousness & it pains me.

It has changed how I can respond and how I can act if I am to remain authentic! I don't think personally we do anyone any favours by lack of authenticity. However once I would have shut up or been tact less...

Now, I am more likely to be able to calmly state my truth & not give a hoot if another feels it's wrong!

So, that's something that has taken growth and maturity of my person (that doesn't necessarily mean age or years btw!)

So, I reckon it's not the destination but the journey (to plagarise a much wiser writer than I!)...

So, know Butterfly that every experience, person, every Thing/situation that crosses your path is a chance for growth and learning. Nothing is a coincidence - it's all a beautiful fabric that you are printing with your own special mark...
