Thanks for all your thoughtful responses and information girls. Bec - ovarian drilling sounds awful!!! Just the mental image is scary.

Just a quick update: DH and I went to a review appointment with the specialist last Thursday. She formally diagnosed me with PCOS (no great surprise after the ultrasound results), and decided on a three-pronged plan of attack:
1) Off to a dietitian to lose weight
2) Clomid 50mg, starting when my next cycle naturally starts (could be another few months if last cycle is anything to go by)
3) D & C to assess my uterus health. I'm VERY nervous about this last one. I did my research, and they don't recommend them for women under 35 (I'm 27), and I don't have private health insurance, so I'll have to wait to go public.
She also wants me to have a fasting BSL to test whether I'm insulin resistant.

So, it could be months before anything actually happens, either waiting for AF or waiting for the D&C (what happens after the D & C - is it classed as an AF, or what is the deal there?)

Sad news is, it appears that DH has both a low sperm count, and of those spermies, 70% are abnormal. So we need to repeat the sperm analysis - but the specialist didn't seem suggest any real 'treatment' to address the sperm issues.

Thanks again for everyone's posts .. it's reassuring to see what others have gone through.
