the other thing is that I'm meant to take clomid from CD5, but if I don't know what is CD5, might miss out this mth.

    Shell,
I posted a thread titled "menstrual suppression" in the women with endo forum. I have 'bikini line' pain (especially when I sneeze - ouch!), breakthrough bleeding, period pain and periodic depression and I was wondering if it was because my periods have been suppressed since december last year. My doctor is treating me for the depression (more pills!!) but shrugged his shoulders at the rest of my symptoms - and advised against me going off the pill for a break.

oh i c. mine bikini line pain/awkwardness feels worse when I sit/lie down, but lately its worse driving home & then sitting after driving home, hasnt been bothering me a great deal during day. Really strange, started when I started Clomid in Feb, but has continued for the 2mths that I was off Clomid (last cycle & this cycle)

    Default Lap

    Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and was lucky enough to stumble across it when researching 'laparoscopy' as my gyno/ob was not very helpful. This site has given me alot of information though i am still nervous about it. My hubby and i have been TTC for 2yrs + and everything appears normal in tests so far which i guess is why the Gyno/ob suggested a Lap on my 2nd visit to him. I feel like it's a bit rushed but then he is the professional right? Am meant to be going on the 18th of november but may put it off till jan 06. I was also wondering about the costs of it?? They were unable to give me an estimate and i would like to be prepared. 8-[

Hi Mazza, mine was private (couldn't wait any more for public) & approx costs (from memory) were: $1100 private hospital, $450 gyn, $300 anaesth, (+ aptmts to gyn). Only 1 of these was claimable thru m/care (gyn or anaesth, can't remember), however I'm claiming all of this with my tax. Now if I remember correctly, for every $ over $1500, that you are out of pocket for for medical expenses (GP/Specialist/Hospital public & private/dental/optical + glasses/surgery/chiro/physio/prescriptions), you can claim on your tax, however you MUST have receipts. For scripts, I had to try to remember every chemist I'd been to & ring them for a 'tax invoice/print-out'. I'm still chasing doco's but hope to get a fair bit back. You only get back a proportion (eg: 25%), but every $ counts.

Thanks heaps for that, I shall start saving my pennies then..and try pluck up the courage too...i am a bit worried about them doing something wrong while inside..but guess its a risk i need to be willing to take. Can a person have PCOS and or Endro and not know?? :-k

I've heard some get symptoms & some don't, so I guess so. I had symptoms for 9yrs, but my gyn back then wouldn't listen to my repeated concerns that something was wrong, so I just ended up listening to him. Then my new gyn still took 6mths b4 he agreed there was an issue & only then did he put me on the 12mth waiting list for hospital, that's when I started shopping around for another gyn with a shorter list, but that list kept growing whilst I was on it too & I gave up on the public system. Hope u have more luck. There are risks with every procedure, but the stats I was given was that each risk was 1%.

I guess you could have it and not know but not to have any symptoms at all would be strange but not impossible. I have had both since the age of 14 (28 now). I feel sick for half the day most days but full days during ovulating. My cycle has never been normal (frustrating!!!) and when it is that time of the month the pain is so bad sometimes it's hard to breathe. I get shooting pain constantly through my back & stomach and I can only liken it to being stabbed (I've never been stabbed so I can't say for sure). I have just had my most recent lap 4 weeks ago and whilst they did not discover any new endo, I was given the lovely news of only having one working tube (but surrounded by scar tissues because of all the other laps!!!). I must admit I have not done all I can to understand my condition(s) but after not being able to concieve for 5 years and starting to feel quite sad about it, I thought it was about time (hence the reason I joined this board!!!). If money is not an object I would say to you to have the lap done as soon as you can, then you don't have to wonder do I or don't have it.
