Matilda was the 3rd Grandchild on both sides - but the 1st Granddaughter on my side (and much welcomed girl )

DD is #1 on both sides..... my brother and his partner are having #2 on our side any day now!

on hubby's side, well both his parents are gone, and he is estranged from his sisters, but from memory she will be
grandchild number 6, grandaugter number 2

but DH's family all had their kids earlier, so Gremlin also has second cousins that are older than her quite significantly - 3 older girls, one boy

kinda sad that Gremlin won't ever get a chance to know her paternal grandparents, and will have limited contact with only two of her second cousins (without their parents around due to the estrangement) - good thing the maternal family are champing at the bit for her to arrive and join the family!

My children were the first grandchildren on both sides. either my bro nor DH's sister had a baby until after Riley was born! My poor DDs had no cousins until they were 15 and 7!!
DD1 was the first great grandchild all round too and had my mum's parents until she was 5 (my grandad) and 13 (my grandma and DH's pop) and 15 (DH's grandma)
Sadly my brother's kids and my DS will never know my mum as she died 7 years ago.

ours will be the first on my side & second on DP's side - by about 4 months! i think it'll be great having cousins so close in age

Mine are both the first an only on both sides so far. Aaron's side it will probably be quite a while before there are any other than ours, his brother's girlfried is at uni for the next four years so at least not til after then. On my side it will probably be in the next two years would be my guess. Both sisters will be married by mid next year & I think are both keen to have kids fairly soon.

My dad`s side of the family (dad has grandchildren in the UK but we don`t know how many so can only go on the children I have and my younger sister)

On my side DS is 3rd grandchild, 2nd boy.

On DH's side he is 6th grandchild but treated like the 1st by everyone because there is 10 years in between him and next youngest grandchild.

My DD was the first grandchild on my side and about the 7th on my DH's side.

She was also the first Great Great grandchild (to my still living grandparents) on my side.

Of the three "Expecting" at the moment, Phoebe will be the next born, so that will be a total of 23 "Grandies" for my parents. -- The last time my Sister and I worked it out we got the revelation that between us, we made half of them.
