I completely agree with her that she was truly handling it the wrong way. I have always said "Its not what you take out of the omelette that makes it good, but what you put in". You cant just take this stuff out, hide it away and pretend stuff like this does not exist. Doing so means that when you child is face with it, they will not have the skills to understand it properly. I have seen the most mortifying example of how "protection by exclusion" can go horribly wrong.

When you get past the original look and slogan of the bratz doll, there is a lot of good in that package. They espouse the values of friendship and self respect. Hard to get from a doll, so I upped the ante and got the movies in which these values are in their face.

You can't fight this stuff, once they get to school its going to be there. You need to turn it around and use it as a tool for teaching them.
