Kirsty Lee, I mean teaching kids about diversity, tolerance and respect, be it race, religion, disability, or sexuality etc.
But yes, I'll stand up and say that *I* believe anyone who doesn't teach their kids about diversity and differences, and respecting and celebrating diversity/differences, is not a very good parent. For me, thats something that is important to do when you raise children. Of course, thats just my opinon on parenting, and I'm sure there may very well be a few people who disagree.
i think this is a really important thing - the topic has come up based on sexuality because this is the aspect of tolerance (or lack of) that most impacts Leash - but i think the main thing is to be able to teach your children that different doesn't mean bad. respecting people is one of the most important things you can teach your children (IMO).

you may choose not to discuss same sex families - and that's fine as it's a parents choice - but i think most people i've come across on BB would try to ensure their children understood differences aren't a bad thing
