Yep I freeze all the scrolls I make cookies etc. I snap freeze things on a tray and then store in a big ziplock bag. Then they pick from an arrangement in the freezer each morning.

    Show us your lunchbox!

And you don't defrost them astrid? Just put it in frozen in lunch box? That would make things so much easier.

you can use the froen items instead of an ice brick if its not super hot whre the lunch box is

N2L I tried a recipie using apple puree and the pikelts were rubbery so now I grate apple into a regular pikelt mix and add some cinamon and theya re yummy. Im going to do some with blueberries next time I see them on special

Scolls are a great idea, will have to try them looking forward to the recipe. If only DD2 ate as wide a variety as her sister does life would be easier! Think we might make our own cold rolls this weekend and see if thats something they will eat

They do defrost. I have not had any complaints from DD, but these foods tend to be eater later in day for her (Brain food, recess, then lunch)
I have done the same for my lunches at times, put in something frozen. The smaller items defrost quite well.

I'd love it if someone came in and posted today my kid had a leftover Maccas cheeseburger, a whiz fizz, can of coke and a fruit salad roll up (for fruit snack). It would make me feel like a better parent!

I'm pretty sure that's the kind of lunchboxes that all the cool kids had when I was at school.

Today DD had a Vegemite sandwich, a nectarine, a plum, an apple bar and a gingerbread man (which may or may not have been shop bought because I was slack and didnt bake on Monday).

Not exactly, but DS1 went with a cheese and bacon roll, scoobie fruit tail, lcm bar, boiled egg and a vegemite dipper (almost as bad as the above lunch box!)
Ya see why I need some help here

I'd love it if you could share some of your recipes for healthy muffins etc

Chip sandwiches at my school. White bread with Meadow Lea and a snack packet of chips. I was oh so jealous of those lunches.

    Anyway back on track.
Just Google the Nigella Choc banana muffins. Has 3 large bananas for 12 muffins. So a good qtr banana per muffin With good stand mixer, you can knock these up whilst cooking dinner or even whilst cleaning up after dinner.
The AWW Food for babies and toddlers has some interesting recipes as well. The pineapple carrot muffins are pretty good.

how much of that food comes home again? it sounds like heaps of food.

or maybe there is trade going on with more unfortunate kids who just get a sandwich and a bit of fruit?

Ahh my DD goes to Kindy this year and I have NO idea what I am going to do for lunchs. I don't eat bread myself so I am pretty boring when it comes to what I can put on them.

I'm taking notes from this thread....thanks girls

    Small portions
Homemade muffins are now where near as large as the store bought ones. They really are just the size of the hole in the muffin tins, otherwise bake mini muffins and pop in one or two.

They can eat a surprising amount of food depending on the day.
