Awww, no one wants Attack :crying:. There are always low impact options ;-).
They're all yours to Combat CQ :D.

No excuses Boomba .
I've had people weigh 120kgs do my Attack class. They started with the low impact options, did what they could and kept at it :D.
Maybe this might help....
Don’t give yourself time to think; over-thinking about exercise saps motivation. If you have scheduled exercise for 5.30 pm and you find yourself thinking about it during the day, then make yourself think about something else. At 5.30, just do it. Paralysis through analysis is not the way to exercise motivation. It’s like getting out of bed; the more you think about it, the more time you spend in bed. Just do it. There are times when it’s best not to think.
Emil Zátopek, one of the greatest middle- and long-distance runners in history, once said: “If one can stick to the training throughout the many long years, then willpower is no longer a problem. It’s raining? That doesn’t matter. I am tired? That’s beside the point. It’s simply that I just have to.”
Tell yourself your upcoming session is “non-negotiable”. Are you one of life’s contenders or not?
But if you can’t help yourself and you do start thinking about not doing it, then consider my next tip…
Thats cool, I need a weights buddy anyway! And now i've found out that you can plug your ipod into the treadmill I'll be living on it once we get the new releases!
Rach - how far are you running??
I downloaded the C25k program on my iPod the other morning, but we've had a heatwave since - so I haven't started it yet. But I'm keen to run 5km's with no breaks in 8 weeks!
Well I only ran for the first time in 12 weeks last week! I have no idea how far I ran, I was watching BC 35!!! In the power tracks I ran at about 12kph, in the combat tracks about 9kph and in the cool down and if I wanted to learn the chorey I put it down to 6 and cranked the incline to about 12%.
Love it!!!
I just did Combat and I tried to SMASH it! Got to vomit peak once and didn't stop on anything, just brought the intensity down when I couldn't breathe!!
Need to get myself a heart rate monitor to see what my little heart is beating at when I hit those peaks, would be interesting to know...
How is everyone else's day shaping up?
Thanks Leesa!
I am actually thikning i may be able to get some classes since DS2 sleeps heaps???? I am missing combat like crazy :)
Winter thats a great idea I may have to invest in one of them too!
Rach your a machine but you already knew that ;)
Went for a walk today...just a little one it felt awesome! Am going to be walking wiht Ktgirl soon hopefully which will make an a hour walk seem like not much wiht all the chatting we get up too!
Am going to go jump on the trampoline DS1 got for christmas later...i seemed pretty exhausted after that!
So glad I have you girls or else I would be slacking off!
I had a bizarre morning / freaky experience!
I had just finished doing RPM 45 - then DH says he wants a shot. So I set up the heart rate monitor for him, sit down at the laptop while he starts the DVD, open up FB and there is Sarah Ostergaard - messaging me (she is the wife and co-presenter of RPM for Les Mills, so, in my eyes a BIG deal). I'm like 'OMG, Sarah - as you message me I'm watching you on the RPM 45 DVD' - bizarre :D.
So yes, I've done RPM so far, and plan to do Attack later on this evening...
Awesome to hear everyone is still moving and keeping at it!
Leesa,
I'm going to try pump with you on Thursday :) Don't be too hard on me, must be about 1.5 - 2 yrs since I did pump
Liz
Leesa - OMG at Sarah O!!!! Can't wait to meet the G-man at workshop!
go Leckert I wish I could come to one of your classes Lees :(
go Winter! If you can ever remember the names of any tracks let me know - or if you want some hard tracks then we can let you know of some to request to your instructor ;)
Boomba, let me know if you want to come to a class with me hun - teaching tonight at Graceville, tom night at Alex Hills, Weds night at G'ville again and Sun morn at HP :)
Woohoo leckert!!! I'm also filling in for a 10am Pump class at the same place this Sunday followed by an 11am Balance class...you should join me for at least Balance too :D.
CQ - I'm looking at going to a filming - maybe early next year perhaps. I have to bring the family lol, although I don't think DH realises how many hours I'll be spending at a gym though. You're going mid year this year aren't you?
I don't know, I probably won't be able to afford it...it depends on a lot of things. If I can't I really want to go to Filex but i'll prob have to work there so I get in for free :)
Leesa, won't be able to make it on Sunday - church is from 10:30 to about 12ish (often chatting to much later
WOW you girls have chatted today!
I'll do your class Leesa!... Except I don't DO classes! I can't handle groups... but by the looks of it, it might be 1:1!
I am still so sore today after all the squats I did on the weekend. Bending for my locker at work and to deal with patients was painful! But I loved every bit of the pain! I'm not doing anything tonight though - way too hot here and I have PT tomorrow... which is going to inflict more pain undoubtedly because I have put on 2Kg in the 2 weeks D has been away... which - punishment
Alright, I'm off to take DD for a swim...
Doh Liz - I'm skipping church this weekend . As they go up for communion I'll probably be doing lunges .
MG - One on one is great fun - your on PT you don't have to share, totally focussing on you and your technique :D. You WILL be doing classes missy!! Thats cool, there are heaps of options!
CQ - You've planted that seed in my head to go, although its always been a life goal of mine to go. Nothing wrong with working at Filex at all hun!
LOL Leesa, I LOVE your optimism! D thrives on it too! LOL. I think that if I EVER did a class, he'd drop dead! he's been trying to get me to do various classes since we started... but I really don't do well in groups! LOL
I'm having a fat day here. Wishing I was on my treadmill...
I was back to training with my trainer this morning, and even though I did a bit of jogging/ walking over the break I still found it a bit tough. I am going to have to go and see a physio before I do too much more running though as I have a sore knee, my knee cap is misaligned. I am going to go for a walk in the morning and then I have a toning (weights) session on Wednesday morning and Kickboxing on Friday.
I have been thinking about getting some excercise DVD's just to mix it up a bit, I dont want my body getting to used to any one thing, and I need some things to keep my heart rate up and the calories burning- anyone got any suggestions? Also anyone got a wii fit with any good programs to use other than the wii fit and wii fit plus? Just wanting to have different things to keep me motivated and moving
I totally smashed my class tonight! Leesa what was the last release you taught? It was the BEST mix and I almost threw up on stage!!!
Seriously could not breath after the end of track 6 and thats supposed to be a recovery!
I think BC39 - and back down to BC8 .
Do share the mix please (even if its more recent releases)!
I chuckled reading your enthusiasm then Rach, thata girl :D
AFM - I was bored after Contender so I did Body Attack . So RPM and Attack in one day. I'm happy with that.
You mean you were bored after the first 1min 30 secs of the Contender??! It was such a cop out hey :(
It was, I have to say, an awesome mix!
Listen To Your Heart/Trouble
Out In The Fields
Baby I'll Let You Know
Power of the Mind/Tubthumping (40 I think it's awesome and no recovery!)
You Can't Stop The Beat
Burn It To The Ground (40 again!)
We Rock
What Hurts The Most
When I Grow Up
Because Of You
I always to that warmup and cooldown together, they work so well.
It was great but I was really dissappointed doing the conditioning track - as a participant I can do most of the tricep push ups on my toes but last night I ony did 3 :( going to keep doing it though - it will not beat ME!!!!!
By the way Leesa - can you pm me your add as I have something for you ;)
Hmmmm, you have me intrigued .
I'm actually considering doing Combat this evening Rach - you'd be proud :D.
There are so many awesome songs to choose from - although I think Baby I'll let you know is the only one I know .
Well, I'm on a mission! I have PT in half an hour (must go get ready in a tick) but still got on the treadmill this morning. Crazy, stupid, or insane? But I figured I'd have a more effective session than if I waited for PT because it will be hotter by then... so I did 30 min on my treadmill. Nothing fancy - incline up to 4 mostly at 2. Up to 6km/hr but mostly at 5.8 so really nothing fancy!
So next on my agenda is PT (an hour) and then 30 min clinical pilates this afternoon at 2... I'm "forgetting" my food/exercise diary today so D can't punish me too much!
Take it with you MG!!! Awesome effort buit you have to take your food diary with you!!! What a great day you're going to have!
I took it CQ - guilt got to me  but he didn't even look at it today! LOL. I have to hand it over next Tues so am sure next Fri will be hell... right in time for me to go away for the long weekend! ROFL
PT was ok today for a first session back. Lots of arm work. He mostly does upper body and core because he's afraid of aggrevating my back until we get the all clear. I said if I have 4 weeks no relapse then he HAS to incorp more leg work! Lucky he agreed! LOL. So two weeks to go... Pilates in 45 min... not feeling particularly motivated but will go... My hayfever is killing me and I just want to SLEEP!
Okay so I've booked a 2 week trial at Fitlife (where Leesa's teaching pump on Thursday morning). All set :hide: What have I let myself in for???????
Well done Liz!
Wel, I've survived my day. Pilates was very challenging today!!!! My core is going to be sooooooo sore tomorrow!
The down side is that I think my hayfever is more than just hayfever. all I want to do is crawl into bed and sleep! I'm running a temp too which is not good. If it wasn't so bloody hot I'd whip up some Chicken Noodle Soup!
Lol @ Liz - I haven't lost a client yet ! But I'll only be filling in for three classes at the moment, but I'm sure you'll feel invigorated by going to the gym!
MG - just think of those aching ab muscles actually supporting and strengthening your back...its positive pain...isn't it ? You worked hard for it. And no, you're not stupid, crazy or insane hun. You did awesomely (is that such a word lol) well!
And no CQ - I mean't the first 1 min and 3 seconds of that grudge match lol. I sooo wanted Junior to win, darn it. Looking forward to seeing Garth fight 'the man' Mundine. I've never been into boxing until watching Contender - but I'll certainly be sticking to the sidelines on that sport .
Well, kids are in bed, I've already done RPM at midday, but I am in the mood for Combat (yes, you heard right Rach!!). I'm sure I'll be complaining about a sore upper back and arms tomorrow - we'll see how 'honest' I've been with my Pump weights though shall we???
You guys are awesome!!
MG - tell me about your food diary, I want to know how it works.
Leesa - did you do combat?
Leckert - good luck with pump tomorrow - say hi to Leesa from all of us!!
CQ - I've remembered the combat track I really loved - Eye of the Tiger - that was awesome!!
AFM -Yesterday I was feeling BLAH so I skipped class & went to the gym instead. Did 10 mins on each on treadmill, stepper & rowing machine.
I was happy with the treadmill as I ran most of it at 9km/h & then did the 5th & last minute at 12km/h. Will try & work up to making it longer.
Today DH & I are going to do Boday Balance together. I have tried to do a check to see that he wont offend anyone with any glipses of body parts ;) but we shall have to see/ I'm going to have to go out & get him some bike shorts if he enjoys it and wants to keep doing it. He does FIFO so every second week he's at home annoying me, so if I can get him into the gym, YAY!!
Winter it's awesome that your DH is exercising with you, you'll have so much more motivation that way!
And Eye of the Tiger is a great track!
When I did the 12 week challenge I did something similar to you - treadmill for 5mins, Xtrainer for 5 and rower for 5...I did those three, twice through then 10 mins on the bike adn the first time I did I burnt over 800cals - in 40 mins! It was nuts...and the weight literally FELL off me...of course I wasn't drinking or eating junk but I know it was that interval training prog. In the end I had to stop it because I got down to 11% body fat! So keep at it - it will work :)
ETA - the final ten mins on the bike was slow and steady - lev 16 at I think around 50rpm (cant' really remember).
Yeah DH is great when it comes to exercising together. He's always up for it. He joined up at the gym today too so he & I are going to get FIT, FIT, FIT in 2010!! We did Body Balnce today and fortunately he was wearing good shorts so no man-bits exposure that I was worried about. He started laughing at one point when the instructor did this way out move & he was like "yeah, I'll just do that!" Some of my favourite times with DH are doing exercise & running (pre-pregnancy) together.
I have a fitness assessment in the morning with the gym to get a baseline. I'm really excited. I want to know where I am, where I want to get and the pathway to get there!
What did everyone else get up to today?
Yay! The familiy that plays together stays together!!!
I taught this morning and then again this evening and I am broken! Just got home, had a shower and now i'm eating my dinner, all clean, in my PJ's and having a glass of wine while the kids are at their Dads...Bliss!
Yay Winter!!!! I used to love training with partner too...
The food diary is a book D put together (initially for me but now does it for all his clients). It is a food exercise diary. 30 days worth. Each day has a quote and information or quiz (3 questions). The top of the page has "My exercise goals for today are" and you list them. For me it's usually stuff like Good posture (because that impacts on my back which impacts on my training), eat well, do xyz minutes of abc.
Under that is a section titled "Exercise goals I achieved today" and I list them
Under that is a Food diary section with space for Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
There are also some training exercises throughout the book. Questionaires on how you cope with different things; what your goals are (30 days, 6 months, 12 months). It's been really good for me to do these every now and then and they also show how much I've progressed with my training. When I started, I couldn't walk into the gym itself because of fears, now I do 98% of my sessions in there (the other 2% are outside). When I started, I couldn't let D touch me or stand behind me, now it's fine.
I also make notes such as what exercise I do at what intensity etc. Any injury related stuff, like how my back is doing. Emotions as well (I'm an emotional eater )
I take it to training most sessions and when I take it, D looks at it and we discuss different things. I hand it over at the end of the 30 days and he gives me a new one. Over the next week he goes over it with a fine tooth comb and then talks to me about certain things at the next session. We usually have pretty indepth chats about injuries and what might be causing any relapses. And he loves to compare my questionaire answers with older ones.
I've not done any PT today. I woke feeling like death warmed up but managed to drag myself to work. Work was painful - it dragged! I was on a late shift so no exercise tonight. I'm hoping to get on it tomorrow though... Then PT after work on Friday. My food today has been BAD so I need to get on top of that again too... But I really want to get on the treadmill tonight... I'm just so BUGGERED! Right now sleeping for a year is very tempting!
Wow MG - that sounds full on. I guess it really helps to keep you focused and accountable for what you are doing. I love that your PT is so holistic. I think its a brilliant apprach rather than "do 20 pushups - ok, you're done". I eat from boredom, so maybe that could be deemed emotional too? And I know that if I don't eat when I start to get hungry then I am reaching for the snacky stuff which isn't good for me. My other problem is DH does FIFO & I hate cooking for 1. I'm great with DDs meals & I often think if I just ate what she does, when she does I'd be fine. Maybe I really should make an effort to do just that....:hmm: You've got me thinking....
CQ - that is my idea of heaven at the moment - nothing better after having an awesome workout then showering in clean pj's.....but I couldn't do the wine (although I'd REALLY want to) - still counting calories :shhh: here.
MG - sounds like your PT really keeps you under control with that book!! it's a brilliant thing to do though. Yep, back on the exercise bandwagon tomorrow :D. You know it'll make you feel better!
Winter - awesome that you and DH are training together. sounds like more fun times will be had!
AFM - yep, I did Combat last night, upper back is feeling a tad sore-ish - but it certainly doesn't stop me from doing anything. I have been playing the Pump release I'm doing for tomorrow mornings class this afternoon - already had most of the choreography in my head, but the first track was a bit tricky - I've got it sorted now :D. I can't learn it any better than I have. I better get a move on, I find exercising late in the evening has a much more positive effect on the scales in the morning :D.
Winter, yeah, D is GREAT! He pushes me to try things and do things (esp things I don't want to do) but he also tries to build my self confidence in the traditional sense as well as in my body and what it can do (I feel let down by all my injuries). He also believes that if you enjoy exercise you will perform better... and achieve your goals easier. He is passionate about weight loss (or gain for those who are under weight - he has to work hard to bulk up). He also loves to help those with psychological issues (because he used to suffer anxiety badly). He does a lot of work with Vietnam Vets. But we work well together because we have formed a friendship - are very open with each other in many respects and trust each other. We muck around a bit too. His boss thinks we're funny. I'e learnt a lot with D and he has really built my self confidence. AND he has helped me trust my body again - he works WITH my medical team to get the best results and to help me maximize my sessions with him so I can reach my goals. He ROCKS!
I really need to get off BB and FB and check that I've got some pants (& a t-shirt) to wear tomorrow for pump. I don't think the pants (3/4 cargo type things) that I currently seem to live in would be suitable for pump. DS's asleep finally so I should go check out my cupboards ....
PS See you in the morning Leesa (if I can't find any sports/track pants I'll still come in my other pants)
ETA - I found a pair of shorts that fit, a little snug around the top (the cord thing only) so that's a relief as my other option was a pair of bike shorts and the world is not ready for that sight yet
MD - he sounds great, hold on to him! It can be so hard to find a PT you click with so that is awesome!
