Mine is to be able to pass the defence force fitness assessment and shuttle run
Just in case!
I think I will be ok with the 2 and a half km run in 14 mins, but the shuttle run is another thing entirely...
My goal is to loose preg weight plus pre preg weight so i can enjoy my kids as they grow up and be able to be active with them.
I, once apon a time , could do the NSW Police fitness tests....but sadly and regrettably let myself go and now ashamed of it....i wanna turn back the clock and be a new person!!
Mine is the same Ray. Although I've got plenty of axcuses at the moment! Being so sick this year has meant no training, and I've got two years before they recognise my qualifications so I keep telling myself I "still have two years" - very naughty of me!
Which service are you applying for? If you need a copy of the shuttle run to listen to (and also the sit up recording) let me know, I have both.
Oh thanks MG!
Aparently I can download the beep test fromt he internet? not sure though haven't looked.
I am toying with the idea of the RAAF, graduate officer entry, and using my IT degree that way. The officer training is in Laverton so 15 minutes from home for me.
I would like to carry my almost 8kg DD and all of her necessities up my 3 flights of stairs without feeling like I'm having a heart attack!
Rayray you can download the beep test not sure where from though. My DH did for his recruitment testing. My god I could barely get past oart three for it... I'd fail dismally at that testing if I had to do it!!
I want to lose pre-preg weight about 5-7 kgs- as Ive lost preg weight - but still have this belly and want to get it flat again... and I cant wait to run again too - I was running 5kms as well pre-preg... one thing holding me back is these E sized milky bb's.. not very conducive to jogging.
I'm sure you can get it from he internet - but I have no idea where!
I'm also looking at RAAF (although Army is also an option). For me, the training with RAAF is about 4 and a half months where as with Army it is 6 weeks (yes - 6 weeks!) plus Corp training. Next year the RAAF OTS (Officer Training School) is moving to Sale - just so you know.
My main goal is to jump out of bed everyday with a fantastic attitude and energy levels to match for my DD, cause that is the very least that she deserves, i also want to set a great example for her of being fit and healthy.
I also want to get back into doing the Mini Triathlons i was doing prior to being pregnant.
I want to be doing 2 pump/combat classes plus 2 1.5-mile swims a week by Christmas.
I want to swim a marathon in the pool (10k - the equivalent of a marathon, so 400 lengths, though i'd probably do it in the olympic pool, so that's only 200 lengths ) or at least get closer to it than my current 1mile workouts.
I'm running 2 10ks, one in May, one in September and in both i want to beat the hour (PBs 63mins in training, 67mins in competition) but ATM i'm still waiting for my stupid fractured foot to heal...
More than anything i want to really enjoy my exercise this year and keep mixing it up so nothing gets dull or tiresome like my running did last year (half marathon training, lots of injuries). Linda you'll be GREAT with your running - i can't wait to hear how your training goes
I'd like to try rock-climbing, have some riding lessons and give spin a go too.
