When was the last time you had a pap smear?

Okay ladies, we all know it's important but something we often put off. Make sure that if you haven't had a pap smear in the last two years, you book in a date NOW! Of the BellyBelly members here today, when is the last time you had a pap smear?

Don't forget to ask for thin prep too, the more accurate test.

July 2007 for me, when we started our IVF cycle. Before that it was May 2005, so I went 2 yrs 2 months in between, so not bad.

I got a reminder while pg to Charlie, went in when Charlie was 4 months old and was told I couldn't get one in the first 6 months of BF, so I went in when he was 15 months old and got it done!

My MIL never lets me forget. If not for her yearly mammograms, she would never have found out she had breast cancer. So she's really believes early detection saves lives.

I just had one about 2 mths ago. Before I was pregnant with Izzy I hadn't had one for 7 years *slaps wrist hard* and when I finally did go I had stage 2 and 3 abnormal cells and had to have a biopsy and heat treatment for it and now I have to have very frequent, regular pap smears. Please ladies if you are overdue - go pick up the phone right now and book in. I will never let myself go so far over with appointments because it was really scary and not pleasant having the treatment.

I was due for one in April last year, but because I was hoping to be pg by then I had one in September 06. It worked out really well because Alister was born in September so its an easy reminder. I am due for another one this year.

Had one in Masrch last year before the fertility treatment so less than a year.

SHEL on the other hand has NEVER had one, and every time I bring it up she finds a way to get out of it. I should just make her an appointment and not tell her!!!!

They did one automatically when I was in KEMH recently, but they also told me I don't need to get them because me and DH have only had 1 partner. Ggota be happy with that!

How strange, I've never been told that!! My question is though, if that's the case, how do nuns get cervical cancer when they've never have sex? Not trying to be difficult, I just find that quite a curious thing for a doctor to tell you.

Yeah I would still be going every two years, you just never know. And I know it sounds awful and I hate to say it, but if infidelity ever happened, then you never know. I would rather be safe and get it done before its too late.

Since I had a CIN3 result (and subsequent surgery) I was on a 6 monthly cycle of pap smears, now I'm down for a new trial of testing, if I'm clear on my pap in June, then I'm back to 2 yearly paps.

I last had one in August 2006, but i'm in the UK where we have smears every 3 years, not every 2. I've never missed one.
