Matilda has had issues with food for a long time. She's been very texture specific, still is. She also has colour specific days... mainly white food works for us.
As she got older and we were able to put more value on things we could say "Eat 3 bites of bolognaise sauce and you can have the plain bowl of pasta" Then I would pack the veges into my bolognaise sauce so she would have some goodness in her little bites.
I would also make her a chocolate rice milk every arvo and add some In-Liven in it. She had it every afternoon for 6 months. Its like a hit of greens and vegetable. It also has probiotics which helps them digest food.
I also did some allergy testing which showed that she was allergic to milk which caused her gut pain! She's much better now, but definately still has aversions.
The last thing I am saying not to scare you but to give you something to put in the back of your head for later. Matilda has sensory integration disorder. One of the sensory issues she has is texture or tactile issues. Food is a tactile issue as well as taste. Matilda wouldn't eat anything other than pureed food until she was 18 months.
