I just got a reading of 6.9 after brekky today so I rang hubby and he suggested doing it again.....5.4 .......aarrggghhh!!!
I just see a midwife and I don't seem to be in a GD clinic or anything. I have had ultrasounds but nothing much has been said about baby size. I am 33 weeks this week.
I feel kinda like they've said "here's this serious thing you have to manage really carefully but you are on your so own please don't bother us"
My last baby, Ellen, was born still at 41 weeks so I am very very stressed about anything going wrong this time. Not that I don't think people who haven't had a loss aren't stressed over GD but this adds extra pressure for me.
I rang them again today as I have to go back to the hospital today for another appointment and they said call in and they'll check my machine.
We don't eat out much 'cause of where we live and also 'cause my hubby needs gluten free food but it is tricky to avoid listeria and manage GD.
Have you gained/lost weight?
I have lost about 3 kgs but noone seems to think that is a problem either.......
Kateo, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. You have the right to be an absolute pain in the arse with the midwife - I would be checking in whenever you're unsure and don't let them make you feel like you're bothering them! I can't begin to imagine the pressure you are under. Are they talking about inducing early?
I've gained about 19kg so far in the pregnancy, but it seems to have slowed down over the last few weeks. I think since I found out about the GD I haven't been giving in to temptations (I seem to have zero willpower with the sweet stuff since I fell pregnant!) and I think at my last check which was a week inbetween I only gained 400g. They do say you can lose weight towards the end of pregnancy so if they're not bothered about the 3kg then I wouldn't stress about it.
What you've been told seems different to me - I'm supposed to keep it under 5.0 fasting and then under 7.0 2 hrs after every meal. Is yours different?
