Just because you have GD doesn't necessarily mean you will have a big baby. With my last baby I was diagnosed at 15 weeks with GD and was on insulin from week 16 (made for a very long pregnancy) and he turned out to be the smallest of all of my babies at 3600g (or 7lb 15oz) and 52cm. If GD is controlled then babies may not be too much bigger than usual. I cheated a bit this time as well, so I just took an extra bit of insulin to even it out.
That said, my first son was 3800g (8lb 9oz) when he was delivered at 37 weeks 3 days.
Good luck to you all with your BSLs. Just keep telling yourself that it will go away!

Everything looked fine with my u/s.

I was wondering if any of you had the names of any really good cook books.
I'm struggling for different things for dinner, and I don't know which cook books are good and worth the $$$ to buy.

there are some good cookbooks under the "new glucose revolution' series that are all low GI. But you know what i reckon are the best recipes and that s the ones in the diabetic living magazine. new issue is just out for may/june and full of yummy winter type foods all low gi etc. You can get diabetic living at the newsagent, it is put out by better homes and gardens every second and has heaps and heas of recipes every issue. Even hubby who is not D loves the recipes cos they are so yummy. One the the recent past back issues has an awesome meat pie recipe that is to die for!!

    Thanks, Melbel!

I actually saw that magazine today, but I wasn't sure if it was worth buying and I didn't have time to flick through it.
I think I'll get it. Thanks for that.
Hopefully my DP will like the stuff too. He's trying harder with the food and eating it with me now, but at first it was suchh a struggle.

Pasta doesn't really go real well for me. Just wondering if anyone else has issues with pasta and are there any particular types of pasta that are better then the others?

Sorry, I'm full of questions todayyyy.

HI everyone, hope you are all going well...

I think after a few trials I have finally got my morning levels down...Tennykins I am finding the same with pasta, despite the dietician telling me to eat it!

I had a 32 week scan today and was so pleased to see a cute bubby looking back and waving at me! Sonographer said she weighs only 1.7 kilos so only little, and still had a bit of growing to do, so the diabetes must not have impacted her yet.

Both of the girls I did the initial diabetes clinic with are now on insulin, thank goodness I'm not yet but can definately track the high readings due to stress etc...!

Thanks melbel for the tip on the magazine, I'll keep an eye out for that one!
