    hiya

tennykins - when you say you got GD at 10 weeks what were your readings? I had GD on high insulin with my son Isaac. He was induced at 36 weeks and i was on around 20 before breakfast, lunch and dinner of novorapid and 82 units of proptane at night.

Isaac is now nearly a year old and i am about 8 weeks pregnant. I am testing my blood to keep tabs on it but i have found my fasting is around 6 - 7 and i can't get it down. During the day its fine. But fasting is a thorn in my side.

I'm not sure if any of you remember be i use to post in here

    Angelraelz - welcome back!

Pachamama - things seem to be going well with you. Not sure about how many times before insulin but would imagine if it was regularly a couple of times a week then they might look at it. They are quite strict with it.
I thought I would have to have more insulin as I have gone along, but 6 units is doing me just fine.
The only time my levels are up is if I am naughty, and as long as I don't do that too often to drs ok.

My levels haven't really gone up during my pg. Infact I think they have stabilized lately. I was expecting them to go up but they haven't.

My current problem is my BP. Went and had it checked today and my Diasolic (the bottom one) was 100! So had my wee checked (all ok - no protein) and rested for 15 minutes and then rechecked. It was 93. Then dr did three consecutive checks after another half and hour and they were all between 90 and 95.
So I have to go back on thursday before my u/s and have them checked again.
I have no idea as to why they have gone up all of a sudden, other then it's school holidays and the kids are driving me mad! lol (just kidding on this).

I go to FMC on friday so I', half expecting to be put on bed rest and maybe they'll induce me earlier than they were going to originally.

Will have to wait and see.

Angel - At first they tol dme it wasn't GD, but I'm not sure. They found my high sugar levels in the BT they do at the start of the pg. I did find out not many GPs actually test sugar levels that early, so I was lucky to get mine done. I think I had a random reading of 18 or something, so I had to do the fasting BT and it came back at 10, or 9.
So that's how it all started with me.

Congrats on your pg! Good luck with BSL readings.

Becci - Wow. 100 on the bottom. Mine has been around the 70-80's on the bottom.
Good there was no protein in your pee. I hope everything goes well on friday.

Thanks Tenny. Mine have been about 80 until about a week ago too. Not sure what's made it go up. Just one of those pg things I think.

I've been really surprised by mine. It was fine again today.
No sugar in my urine either. Or protein.

Do you guys get sugar traces?
It's due to the diabetes I was told, but I got it a couple times in the middle but not anymore.

I'm not even sure if I'll be induced or not. I don't know if my OB cares if I go over. I just have to wait till atleast next week at my 40+1 appointment. (if I hold on that long)

I have only had my urine tested once (the other day) by my GP. They tested it at FMC though. I did have sugar in there both times though.

Wow! Tenny, it can be any time now. How are you feeling? I've been feeling very uncomfortable these past few days. Have you engaged yet? I haven't and I don't think I will, which is apparently common for second time bubs.

Just in case you happen to go into labor tonight, I do wish you all the best with everything. It's been great having you to talk to about all this GD stuff.

I'm sure we'll hear from you once your home (well I hope so anyway).

    Sleep tight.

I've been feeling really uncomfy lately, and have had some cramping and back aches, but they never go anywhere.

I actually found out today the baby is like 3/5 engaged, so only just.
I don't even know if my DS was engaged before labour last time, so it's all new to me. lol. Yeah, I read that in second pgs they don't engage till the end.

Trust me to get a head cold right now. It's kinda a bad one too. It's kinda funny though, since I've been feeling a bit off with the cold I haven't really had any cramps or even BH, so maybe my body is tryna fight that off first. I'm not sure.

    Thanks for the wishes Becci.
It's been great having this section to talk about GD and stuff. I don't know what I would have done without it.

    xx
