Dd1 gave her teacher a gift and she opened it, looked through it pointed out bits she liked gave dd a cuddle etched etc.
Dd2 gave her teacher the very same gift she said thanks but didn't even bother to open it and that was that.
This highlights the difference between the teachers that I have noticed all year.
Still I felt obliged to give the sucky teacher a gift anyways. But I don't think a teacher would notice if not given a gift as it's really a bonus not a given. Maybe just do a card for the not so good teacher.
We did reindeer noses in a red spotty mug and a teachers survival kit with chocolates and other bits and pieces in it.
When I was a kid I think I remember there was the odd child who gave the teacher a gift but it certainly wasn't as popular as these days.
I don't

I considered doing glass jars of layered bikkie ingredients with a tag for how to make them, jam or little cross stitch pics with a teacher-related saying, but ran out of time/energy/motivation!
