My mum laid on her back on bed with a friend and my older sister holding her legs back while pushing out a posterior baby at home. To this day I still don't understand?!
I find those "party in the labour room" things really weird.
I don't want anyone there! Meow you hid in a garage
Its just that i feel fine, normal and no different to 32 weeks, seems like its a bad joke that everyone keeps expecting me to have had the baby! It is also cruel to make me wait the longest hehe
So my midwife had to cancel today, she had a hospital birth. i get a text this afternoon, "can you come to the clinic thursday afternoon at 4.30pm" when i said no she said "Friday 10.30am" I said "if i make it to then i will be 8 days more pregnant than i have ever been and with my history of quick births i don't think i will want to travel 35mins to come to you?" So she said "well you don't really need one so lets just make it next monday…. That will be a fortnight since i have seen her. Im not really worried but surely this isn't the time to dump appointments??? If i go into labour she will find the time to come so why wouldn't you find it tomorrow or wednesday? Am i being sensitive about this? I have never been this pregnant, i am having another home birth as i had a negative experience last birth, she knows i was upset that the last MW did come when i needed her at the end of my last pregnancy. I am paying $4000 for the comfort and support of a MW. And I'm going 2 weeks without an appointment….. My mum thinks its because she thinks i will birth before then but hey we ALL thought i would have birthed by now….. Baby is moving and i don't have any signs of there being any concern but she didn't even ask that? She didn't ask if i needed or wanted to see her before then…..
Please be honest, don't just be on my side, this feels odd but i am tired and hormonal
I'd be really cranky & upset if she couldn't make it one day I'd expect her the next day not the following week!
It's not what you need this late in pregnancy at all !!
I tell you honestly if she was mine I would not be happy
Can you talk to her about it ?
Tegam... I found at the end of the pregnancies alot of small things needed to be ironed out in preparation before birth. How you communicate with your midwife and trust her is not a small one, it's a big one. Even though you say she 'knows' your history, it's a little bit like having expectations of your partner, sometimes they need it clearly said what you want and need( again and again and again). I would ring her (text is not clear) and say you are feeling really vulnerable and tell her what is going on, give her a chance to respond, you can't guess why she is making the appointment the way she is, be clear, open and honest with her, if it is emotional show her... smooth it out... and if you do birth fast, do not going anywhere... I have super quick births and you need to feel safe and stay in xxx
