My DD was 14 when I had DS and she has had people ask her if he's hers LOL (she is very quick to point out that he is her BROTHER LOL)
When I had DD1 my mum minded her and she often got comments like "do you have any other kids?" She loved it cause she was 50 when Jess was born!!
I am like Smiles now, I worry I look too old to be Riley's mum LOL I do love the "OMG you have a 17 yr old, you don't look old enough" comments though!!
I have been asked a few times (then shunned) when I reveal I'm not DS's nanny.
But then, my mum came into my work last month. I'm bloody sick of hearing that she looks like my sister! I'm nowhere near being in my 50s! My mum loves it though.
My mum and I were both about the same age when we gave birth to our firstborns. She felt like an old crone because girls younger than her in her birth group were all on their 4th children, I felt odd because I wasn't approaching 40!
I must be looking old now - when DS was tiny I was his nanny, now I must have plenty more children ("really? he's an only one?") because I look so shot. (Or because I make it look so easy/natural... think happy thoughts!)
Grrrrr today some random man in his 40s had a whinge right behind me in the line of toys r us about how young girls only have babies for the baby bonus and we dont know how to look after kids as we are only kids ourselves! Then Mr. On-his-soapbox whinged about the baby bonus and parenting payment came out of HIS taxes
Uh hello dude my sons well dressed, well feed and these toys?? Aint for me. How the bloody hell would I fit in an infant swing??? We have a 30 yr old car i only buy clothes on sale and my 1 luxury is the internet (which is like $30 a month). Yep living like a Latin King on your taxes and the baby? He fends for himself cz I have no idea
(Id like to add as he was saying how irresponsible I must be and blow all my money Im standing there in $8 shoes *sigh*)
In conclusion People Are Idiots (well at least Mr. On-his-soapbox is)
