Cool First IVF Cycle - Few Question's.

    Hello

We have just entered into our 1st 2ww for an IVF cycle.

Yesterday I had 1 litle embie (Blast) transfered, I am on Crinone daily until my BT in 2 weeks.

I had 13 follies on my scan, 8 were collected, 4 fertalized and 1 made it to blast. I was hoping we would have gotten some to freeze for future cycles but no such luck.

We started a IVF cycle in Jan which ended up being cancelled due to poor response to Puregon.

How many egg's were collected when you had your EPU?
    How many fertalized?
How many made it to freeze?
What cycle did you get your BFP on?

    Hey 07mum

We have done 1 full stim cycle on 150u Puregon. Here are our results
13 eggies collected, of these, 10 were mature
    5 fertilised
    1 made it to freeze.
Hopefully, IVF/ICSI #2 will result in our BFP

All the best for a wonderful result from you on this cyle

We tried for nearly 4 years with Ovarian Drilling, Clomid, FSH, and OHSS then FS said have you had enough of this yet ( As my ovaries are soo stubborn they won't work and then they over do it and cause me to be hospitalized) Also having my age on our side she didn't want to head straight for IVF so we left this for last and tried stimulating my PCOS ovaries just never worked but worth a try anyways, We went for it knowing the risk of OHSS again but we got very lucky this time no OHSS...

How many egg's were collected when you had your EPU? We had 21 collected
    How many fertalized? 18 fertilized
How many made it to freeze? 10 3day and 2 5 day total of 12
What cycle did you get your BFP on? We got it first IVF stim cycle 5day blasty

I wish you all the best in your journey and hope and for wonderful results for you!

07Mum- Ahhh, the 2ww is awful isn't it??? I'm another who has PCOS and went through all the drilling etc. we jumped straight to IVF after the drilling though as they found that I also had endo and a blocked tube.

We only had 2 eggs collected at EPU from 10 follicles (Talk about disappointment!!)
They both fertilised but doc decided to do a transfer at 2 days as we only had the two and he didn't think they'd make it to blasty.
He transferred one and we froze the other.
And I am now UTD!!! And we have one for a couple of years hopefully!

Good luck to you. I know it's easier said than done but try not to dwell during these two weeks.

    Hi there,

Good luck with your TWW and FX it ends with a BFP for you! Here are my details:

How many egg's were collected when you had your EPU? 6
How many fertilized? 2, using ICSI, no less. I was disappointed/pessimistic but cheered up when I learned that those 2 embies were top quality -- just goes to show, it really is true that it is quality, not quantity! And since your transfer was from a blast, that probably increases your odds.
How many made it to freeze? 1 early stage blasty
What cycle did you get your BFP on? 1st stim cycle, from a day 3 embie (since I only had 2 fertilize, they transferred one at Day 3 then proposed to try to grow the 2nd one out to blast and freeze it if it made it; luckily, that worked). We were very lucky! Of course, since I just got my BFP a few days ago, there is still a lot that can go wrong . . .

    Best of luck,
    Kitkat72

    Hi O7Mum,
I'm at the beginning of my 2WW too on an ICSI cycle. I got a day 3 embie transferred as none of mine were looking very good (6 cell with lots of fragmentation transferred).

Like yourself we did a cycle end of last year but had to cancel due to poor response and that was on 350 Gonal-F on a down regulation cycle. This time I did an antagonist cycle and started on the max dose for my clinic, 450units of Gonal-F....had a slow response again but they waited an extra 4-5 days and I finally started to show some follies. I'm just happy I got to do the whole cycle this time, even if it means I get nothing at the end, its such a relief to know I can respond to the drugs, and its not a waste of time to try again.

    Anyway, my stats are:

Number of eggs collected at EPU: 5
    Number fertilised: 4
Number to freeze: will find out tomorrow being day 5, but very likely to be nothing due to some even shrinking in cell numbers by day 3!! Like what the!! How do they shrink....little ratbags!!

    Best of luck!!

    Hi,
for us it was looking pretty negative to begin with. We were on an antagonistic cycle. The first scan showed only 4 follicles and we almost pulled out. Fortunately by the day before the collection there were 9 and all produced eggs... although some were more mature than others.

    9 collected
    9 fertilized
    1 transferred 2 frozen

    Good luck!

    Hi,

As you can see there are lots of varied results. Mine were:

I had 32 or so follicles.
How many egg's were collected when you had your EPU? 10 (5 mature enough to proceed to ICSI)
    How many fertalized? 3
How many made it to freeze? 2
What cycle did you get your BFP on? Fingers crossed its the second one.

Good luck. When's your blood test?

    Hi there,

    Here are my stats:
How many egg's were collected when you had your EPU? 5 (though they had forecast at least 10, so I was devastated)
    How many fertalized? 4
How many made it to freeze? 1 (and one fresh one back in)
What cycle did you get your BFP on? First frozen cycle (now the freezer is empty) (He's now the most beautiful 8 month old baby)

Similar to you I was on the horrible crinone - how gross is it! Thinking of you in your TWW!

    Thank's for all the replies

    Alot of varied results.

BT is on Wed - The not knowing is eating away at me, I can't concentrate on anything.

Trying to stay as busy as possible, but no matter what I do or where I go, I am constantly thinking about it.

Firstly Hi 07Mum and all the very best of luck with your cycle - I will be thinking about you on Wednesday and praying for a BFP.

    In answer to your questions:
I had about 12 eggs collected.
We did IVF with ICSI and of those 12 eggs 8 successfully fertilised - 1 was transferred fresh and 7 were frozen (I was doing day 3 transfers not blasts)
We got our BFP on our second cycle which was a HRT FET - I now have a beautiful little 13 month old girl from that little defrosted embryo.

So our first stimulated cycle ended in a BFN. At that time we had 7 day 3 embies in the freezer. When we came to do the FET, they defrosted an embie that didn't make it, so then defrosted another which went on to become my daughter. We have 5 remaining day 3 embies that we hope to go back soon and get another baby from.

Sending you lots of sticky vibes and hoping that this embie is your forever baby.

    Janie xxx

Oh 07mum, I'm sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself now (is that the rustle of the chocolate packet I hear calling you?) and all the best for your next cycle.

    Sorry to hear O7Mum.
I ended up not getting anything to freeze either and am pretty sure my AF is going to show by the end of the weekend, all signs are its on its way in which case the local ice-cream shop is going to get several visits!!

Hope you are ok. Take care.

Hi girls, can anyone advise me on if they had trouble on Puregon with E2 (estrogen) levels being too low at first.. Did they rise, what dosage were you given. ?? Have had 2nd blood test and E2 is still on 36 which is very low so I am now up to 550 Puregon with a little shot of Pregnyl (little trigger) every 3rd day... Next blood test this thursday and I am worried... thankyou for reading and responding if possible...
