Well MD aren't you the source of good news!!!

I haven't any mo's - I"m blonde so maybe that's my saving grace! I have never been very hairy though.

What about Bay City Rollers? OMG I was in loooove! I showed a picture to DD14 & DD9 the other day of the BCR... They just said: "mum they look like freaks"! Oh those young uns....

What about Abba - I believed I channeled Agnetha... I sang into my hair brush - as a result Mama Mia is one of my favourite movies!

    Ponchos?

I knew the Abba Arrival record (remember records??) inside & out. I stopped listening to it in my teens, but knew every word and note when I heard it again 10 years later. I'd get in trouble for listening to my brother's Spandeu Ballet and Fine Young Cannibals records. Thompson Twins anyone?

I had bubble gum jeans - you know the bogan jeans that were super skinny - too much eyeliner, big hair, bubble skirt. Anyone else tie a bandana around their thigh like Punkie Brewster?

My fav shows were Disney (Sunday night), Countdown (when I was allowed to watch), Monkey Magic and Simon Townsend (I cried when Woodruff died), Fraggle Rock, Degrassi Juniour high. Loved Shirl's neighborhood.

We used to make mixed tapes - I'd sit by my radio ready to press record for when a good song came on, then listen to them on my Walkman. My first crush was Morten Hartik from AHa

I wanted to be Wonder Woman and had an iron-on transfer in a showbag , with bracelets and the little tiara thing she wore (OK, I was 8).

I learnt to type on a typewriter and I still do 2 spaces after a fullstop. I remember when we got a colour TV and thinking mobile phones were only for high-flying knbs.

We used to nick off all weekend on our BMX's and come back, cold and hungry when it was getting dark and that was normal and expected. We used to walk to school, with those enormous school bags hanging off one shoulder. I remember hair flicks, roller skates and playing marbles.

OK - that was a big trip down memory lane....

I still know the punching ball song from Romper Room! I loved Miss Helena
    Punch, Punch, Punch the ball
    Punching's so much fun
Use fist, your hand or wrist
and keep it on the run.

I sooo desperately wanted to her to say Hello to me in the Mirror!
I loved Tina Arena when she was on the Johnny Young Talent Time.
Cyndi Lauper with Girls Just wanna have fun!
Ra Ra Skirts (pretty sure they have come back a few times), Knicker Bockers, my Mum refused to buy them for me!
Soo many memories, think this thread is already well and truly stuck already

Ok I am not old enought to join yet ( 4 years to go ) but just wanted to say that I think its a great idea... I remember everything everyone has mention, mollys death is still the saddest TV death ever.. rolla rama ( sp ) near the Carabeen markets ( sp ?) went there all the time... Time zone birthday parties were the to die for invite... ra ra skirts and flro laces where always on my feet... Oooo dont forget the SPIKE... didnt that take forever to grow out...

So as I am too young to join in yet but grew up with 4 older siblings who helped me through the 80s I will love if its a open forum where I can at least read it every now and then to remember the good times...

So until I am a little older have fun without me...

There was Sooty, Sweep and Sue. I used to love how everything worked and that the taps had water.

GP - I think that was Tales of the Riverbank.
