Red face Fellow larger families, how often do u and ur partner dtd?

During a discussion on ttc with my hubby, i brought up the fact that for example this month we had only dtd 3 times, he said but we have 5 kids, dance, soccer, etc and he thought 3 times was a good average considering that we are so busy, and had also been sick ourselves during that time, i went on about the fact that it wasnt enough for ttc blah blah blah, he then has asked me to ask my fellow larger families the question "how often do u get to dtd" and "when ttc how often do u get to dtd"?

He says that having a large family of 5 kids makes it hard to get time to dtd, i disagree!

So families that have at least 5 kids or more i put forward this question to you!

(that is if u still actually want to dtd with ur partner, lol)

We average around 3-4 times a week.. Alot depends on DD and if she stays asleep long enough

plus Dh is just too tired during his working week (2 days then 2 nights then 4 days off)

We occassionally go through stages where it might be only once a week or when Dh is on holidays every night.. but average is 3-4 times a week..

I think it is possible even when you have a few children.. kids sleep at night and if we think DD is going to wake before we are ready for bed then we wait for the kids to go to bed and duck to bed for a quicky then get up and go to bed later

I forgot to add.. when we were TTC we still did it the same amount of time.. but we aren't trying anymore I think (imo) it is important to maintain a seual relationship regardless of TTC or not I find those weeks that we do slacken off we get grumpy and snappy with each other.. I seem to have a higher sex drive then DH but he always says we still do it more then average so shhh and then laughs at me

LOL! I totaly agree with you there.
Hubby would like to know what social activities u have with ur children, hes going on about being at work all day, then taking the girls to dance and soccer training, basically i think hes saying he is too tired to dtd!

Honestly we don't have any out of school activites as we go away alot so dont really have the time, plus I don't have my license which makes it hard as well.

When my Dh is home we go camping, fishing or on bike rides with the kids.. We have 2 in school and 2 at home.. next year we will have all 3 boys at school

Dh and I don't find the activites we do with the kids tiring if anything they fill us with more energy. I notice you live in a much larger city then I do so lots of driving and traffic would make you tired as it is draining. We live in a small town where it only takes you 10 mins to go anywhere really unless you want to go to bigger shops which is only 20 mins away lol..

I threaten my Dh with horny Goat weed (on his slack weeks)

for me its hard my DS sleeps in our bed and my DH works all different shifts but since being pregnant i cant even find the need to want it so if we do its often telling him to pull them down and hurry up (omgosh i feel sooo bad now)

The thing is like someone else said if i wasnt pregnant now all it takes is for him to look at me and i fall pregnant but i guessi have to stop being so slack lol..

Im jealous ... those of you who are saying 3-4 a week that would be bloody wonderful. I want it alot more than my DH and if we do it twice a month im lucky! Doesnt do much for the intimacy of a realtionship waiting for the other person to decide on when he wants it .

I'm not really that "into it" LOL, so our average is not very high...probably once a fortnight...once a week at the most.
When we were TTC we only did it 5 days before O (using withdrawal method) and once on day of O, as we were trying to gender sway for a boy. So when we were TTC we actually did it less than any other time, LOL. It worked!!

Just *bumping* lol this thread cause I wanna add my 2c!

When TTC it's never really been any different to any other time.
It's been a drought around here the past month *sigh*
But on average usually about 5-7 times a week.

It really depends on me. At the moment it is the last thing I feel like doing so I really have to make myself "give it up" once a week
DH is ready to go at anytime anyplace the horny buggar he is and he is a shift worker who does 12 hour shifts but is always up for it.

When not breastfeeding, hormonal or feeling gross, fat and wobbly then its usually about 4-5 times a week.
We havent really tried properly to conceive before, just not done anything to stop it so the amount of times is the same.

Generally around 5 times a week, when ttc or not...

We have lots of outside stuff with them all, and I have 3 still at home all day too, so we are pretty stuffed... BUT....

Bed for the 3 littlies is no later than 8.. the next goes at 9, and the last 2 go to bed at 9.30.. so we go to bed then too... we fiddle while watching our 9.30 to 10.30 show, then when the tele goes off, its time to DTD...

So although its kinds "routine", we do different stuff most nights so we look forward to it... We couldn't DTD any later, from about 2.30am onwards we end up with the 3 littlies in our bed... EVERY NIGHT.... so 10.30 it is, so we can get some sleep....

I find if I get all the house crap done, when we go to bed I can really relax.. if I didn't fold the washing or left dishes or knew I had to get up to a mess in the morning, I'm too stressed and tense.. whatever doesn't get done through the day, gets done between 7.30-8.30pm by us both, so by bed we feel all nice and relaxed...

Gawd. Not very often. Dh would like to more but with a baby still waking two to three times a night and four other kids and full time work and fibromyalgia ... I don't often feel like it. He must wonder why he bothered getting a vasectomy!
