Yep, we go to Westmeads Childrens.

We're under Dr Haywood, the head surgeon. He done all the facial work on Sophie Dalezio (sp?), the little girl who got ran over twice...So we are very lucky to have him. He is world renouned, and also goes over to third world countries to do free cleft surgeries on kids who would normally never be fixed... We just love him...

B.J's surgery is at Mater Hospital in Brisbane, I am a bit nervous because I am new to the hospital system here and not sure how much we as parents can do. His last hip surgery in N.Z we were allowed to have him at home for his 6 weeks bedrest and had a nurse come in to help wash and clean dressings, etc. We had him set up in the lounge so he could still be part of the family and the hospital didn't mind us all visiting him with our large brood. I guess surgery isn't till Feb so I should just relax!

Is everyone else on holidays now? Whatcha doing?

Purplemamma - that is awesome! We had Professor Cohen, he got us booked in as soon as he saw Veygas, and cancelled all of his appointments the following day to do the surgery. As much as I hate hospitals, I found them to be really good down there. I'll be thinking of you & your family, I know how hard it is a) having surgery down on little kids and b) having to be away from your (large) family to have it done. How long will you be there for?

halltribe - we are on hols next week for 2 weeks. Probably won't do anything as DP will still be working, but me & the kids are trying to organise some days out with friends (picnics, park etc) Hope the wether holds up!

Cathie - keep us informed wots happening...how exciting!

    Squidgirl - welcome aboard

Welcome nack you MIA's... anyone else out there????

I have just had my stepson arrive from NZ today (he's 19) to stay with us indefinitly so that takes us up to 8 kids at home now. I want to put up a NO VACANY sign up our house is bursting at the seams.

How big are your houses and how do you fit all the kids in? I have a 4 bedroom house withthe baby in with us then the 2 girls together, the 2,4 and 8 yo boys together and then the 19 and 15 yo sharing. We have 3 sets of king single bunks, 1 single bed and a cot. Don't know where I will put baby when he needs a bed!!! I guess we will have to keep stacking them! No one gets their own room and even I have to share ...I suppose that is why we keep on having more kids!

haha your funny. I have a 2 bed home with 2 sun rooms the 10 year old has her own room and baby too whist the 3 and 7 share. Good point you made about bursting at the seams i was wanting more kids but i know how hard it is when renting no one wants ya. the fact finding rentals is so hard with 4 kids i couldn't imagine 8. Well done. I would like more kids but fear i wont ever get a another rental property to rent. this is changing my opinion on having more kids. were all yours vaginal births or c sections? if you dont mind me asking.

    Hi all
I am new to this thread but I have 4 boys. Want to have another one, well we think, I keep changing my mind every other week. No not to keep trying for a girl but for a playmate for our youngest. The gap is too big so he needs a playmate. Thats what I tell myself anyway.

Oh the comments. I could write a book. Some people are just so rude arent they? My husband, when we get the "dont you guys have a TV?" comment comes out replies "yes but we cant afford the power bill we have too many kids!!!" The looks he gets are priceless because they dont know if he is serious or not!!
I think its worse having all the same sex because I always get the how to get a girl comments as well.
I just say we thought we would stop when we got an ugly one and it hasnt happened yet.

When people tell my dh, "Don't you have a T.V?" He answers back. "No way there's too much sex on it!"

I am renting and had a wee bit off trouble finding a place but we are moving in 2 weeks (to Hervey Bay) and have found a 6 bedroom home for less than we are paying now in the gold Coast!

Boys - you just gotta love them (I have 5), much less complicated than girls!

My first baby was a Caesar then the rest have all been wonderfully natural. I have meet a lady in N.Z who has had 8 caeasars. She said the doctors weren't tthat happy but when its in there its gotta come out! She is still very heathly.

Ooooooh Cathie, how EXCITING!!!!! I didn't realise you were THIS CLOSE to having your twins!! oooooooohhhh!!!

Hey Squiddy!!! Nice to see you here too!!

All-boys - I want more kiddies, but it's DP who keeps swaying! Might have to try and surprise him with a couple of "oopsies"!! (when we find time to DTD of course!!) hahaha

halltribe - YAY!!!! for the 6 bedder!!! We are crazy, and are actually looking into the feasibility of buying But not in our current location (for some reason, the Blue Mountains has become quite popular!) But atm, our rent is quite reasonable, and our rooms are HUGE (we haven't had to resort to bunk beds yet!!) Our 2 eldest (boy and girl) share a room (and we could easily fit another 2 single beds in there without stacking!), and the 2 littlies share a slightly smaller room ... be hard to find another house like this, but we figure there's gonna be a time when the older 2 are gonna want their own space for a while (esp DD) and don't know if DS1 will appreciate sharing with his brothers 5 and 7 yrs younger!

Hi to Katstribe, storm, mummy of many, Purplemamma, Dustmite (forgotten anyone?)

    Big families are fun!

Firstly OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooHHHHHHHHHHHhhhh hhhhh my GOSH Storm your preggas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Huge congrats hun, I know you waited a long time for this little bundle to come your way Man i am so excited and you just popped in here without even announcing it! Cheeky

Mountain mummy, i think people are starting to favour more country areas to raise their kiddies now! It sounds like you have a great house there. Big families are the only way to go! Also good luck if you do decide to buy. We bought our place nearly 9yrs ago and its great! If iwanna change something i can inside or out!

Halltribe you will find Hervey Bay heaps better than the Gold Coast i think! We live a few hours from there and have family up that way plus my 17yr son has a GF there! We have a 4br plus office home at mo, so we have 17yr son in his own room, the 4older girls in bunks in another room, and Mitchie and Molly (the bubs) in the other room, well Molly still sleeps in our room in her bassinet but her cot and all her belongings are in their room. We are still trying to go ahead with our extension which will give us another 2 brms plus an ensuite, thats what i find hardest, only having one toilet!!!!!! Man some days there is a serious lineup!

Squidipa i think it really depends on how your body copes with the surgery , bleeding and so on, i know most hospitals will go up to 4 but have heard of plenty that have had more. Have all yours been C-secs? Can i ask why c-secs? Not questioning your way, i just know i have had 7kids number 1 and 6 (both my boys) were c-secs and my 5 girls were all vag and i hated my c-secs.... i am sure there would be someone on BB with some helpful info as to how many is possible though.

Allboys don't worry hun people always have an opinion, we get to hear what people think all the time, now i just ignore it, or I say something smart just depends on my mood. But no matter what people will always have an opinion cause they can't help themsleves! Its alwasy good having a thread like this cause we can ge ideas on what to say when people jsut can't help themselves! My fav one at the mo when people ask if we have a T.V. is yeah we have 3 of them, we just like to have sex is all! They soon walk away or shut up. But i love the positive comments we get when people see us out and about too, we are always being told how beautiful our family is and how well behaved they all are. So thats what i remind myself of.

mummy of many hi and don't they just grow up too fast! I was jsut looking at Molly yesterday thinking would you plese slow down your our last bubby! But of course she not going to!

Ok so i think i had a full on chat to everyone that has spoken since i was last in here! Ahhhhhh just like old times, mand there are so many new people in here now which is great to see, but all us oldies had dissapeared. I hope you all come back too!
Anyway my bubby finally got her 4mth needles yesterday and she was a good girl, but then i did give her booby straight after too which always helps!
I also wnet and had some blood tests done to find out whats going on with my body! My DM thinks it could be thyroid and i certainly have all the symptoms, so doc is do the tests to check it all out! If not that not sure wht it could be. But i will know next tuesday the results.
ANyway i best get moving so take care one and all and i shall pop back soon
    Cheers
    Kat

First birth vaginal second third and 4th c section After the first she was 8.5 pound and the dr thinks she was to heavy for me so in my second preg i prolapsed my uterus. So since then always c sections as i tend to prolapse and have had a few surgery's to restore whats there to prolong the possibility to have more kids.

Hi squidipa, i guess the positive is at least you go tto have one natural and of course your babies all come into the world safely and thats what counts at the end of the day. The only reason i asked is cause i know i struggled after my c-secs, but then i met this woman in hos and she coped just fine after hers. I am fairly certain you can at least have 4 c-secs but after that they do see it as fairly risky. But it is different with each person and some hospitals too. I hope you get to have as many bundles of joy as you want.
Not much going on here just day to day stuff really. We have to get our pool topped up and cleaned so that we can start using it soon. ITs starting to get pretty hot some days.
So has everyone got their kids home on hols now? We are almost finished here and it has been so nice not having the morning rush trying to get everyone organised on time! I dread monday morning, our kids have to be organised to leave the house by 7:50am to catch the bus and some mornings thats a real struggle with the younger ones.
Anyway i best go do some house work (yuck) before it gets on top of me........
    Cheers

    Hey everyone!

Kat - we just started hols this week, and I agree, it's so nice not to have to rush! Doesn't stop my day from starting at 6am though!!

halltribe - I have told DP that when DD hits puberty, I'm running away from home!! If she's this moody at 4, I don't wanna know what her teens are gonna be like!

So, for those of you with more than 4, HOW did you convince your DP/DF/DH's to keep going??? I know my bub is only 2 months old, but I already know I want more (and it's not money that is the issue) but my DP says he's already not home enough - he doesn't want to lump me with more than I can handle IYKWIM, but I love having the kiddies around!
