Calling All Right Handed People

i use my fork in my left and my knife in my right... but if there is no knife present.. its just fork in right hand.

I h old the folk in my right hand but if I'm just eating with a folk I will use my right hand.... My brother however is also right handed and he holds the fold in his right hand and cuts with the knife in his left (sorry but he is a weirdo) heheh :tounge:

I do other things weird though and I enjoy using my left hand for things which I would normally use my right hand for, such as playing sports left handed... it's good to be as ambidextrous as possible

I know this thread is for right handed people but i just wanted to add that i'm a lefty and i hold the knife & fork the same as you TD everyone think i'm weird because it's not the "correct" way to do things. So you arent the only "weirdo"

I'm the only right handed person in my immediate family - my mum, dad & brother are all left handed.... so I apparently eat as a left handed person does?!

I never really thought about it until I started waitressing & setting tables & realised I was a little strange

Guess thats what you get when you grow up with your left handed mum setting the table

If I HAVE to use a knife (HAVE to, as in if I absolutely can't get away with cutting my food with the side of my fork and not even using my left hand at all hehehe) it's in the right hand and fork in the left. Usually I'll cut up a few bites and then transfer my fork to the right hand.

I eat with my knife in my left hand and my fork in my right hand. And I'm right handed. It's often pointed out that I am doing it the wrong way, but I don't care - this feels more natural to me.

I do the same TD, knife in left and fork in right. I am right handed and it used to peeve DH off that I used the cutlery the wrong way around.

MD, my dh would eat everything with a splayde if he could. They're awesome for rice and cous cous and those foods that slip through. And they make great wedding presents...sorry if you're about to invite me to your wedding, I just gave away my present.

You got taught how to talk, eat, walk, hold yourself etc like a lady. We learnt a lot about self respect as well. It was held at a modelling class, so there were a lot of model-wanna-be's there, but I wasn't one of them. My mum sent me mainly for me to grow up and start acting a little mature, and to learn a little respect for myself and others.
Like I said, I was early teens (14 from memory) and I still remember almost everything we learnt and use it daily in my life. It's just something that's etched in my brain. Definitely recommend it!

i do that.

I mainly use my right hand with EVERYTHING. only use my left hand when holding a fork...

My mum taught me how to crochet. She crochets left handed (mind you she is right handed) . and i do it right handed... so it was a fun lesson she thought i was doing it wrong.... and i thought she was doing it strange..

Fork in left hand, knife in the right. I used to, if I was just using a fork, use it in my right hand, but have since trained myself to use it in the left. The boy is right handed, and holds the fork in his right hand, knife in his left (but I think he was taught that way by his mum). The Man is left handed, but holds the same as me, because 'that's how you are supposed to hold them'.

If I'm only using a fork then I'll use my right hand to hold it. If I've got knife and fork then I use fork in left hand, knife in right hand. I can't use the fork in my left hand by itself

TD I will join your weido crew I am the same fork in right knife in left but if I am cutting vegies etc I use my right hand to hold knife but for eating its like you I always get called weido too

Nope not wierd my sister and I do the same thing yet we are both Right handed

Mum is left handed, so I grew up eating & ironing with the wrong hands.

I'm the same as you too TD.
I am predominantly right handed and eat with my fork in my right hand, knife in my left. I also iron with my left hand, and (back in the day!) skate & surf goofy.
I remember as a kid my parents were fine with me being like this as my grandfather is ambidextrous so they were used it it, but I would get critisised at friends houses by their parents who thought I didn't know how to use a knife & fork properly
