    Re: bogans. I think it's all about mindset, attitudes and values. I'm often guilty of dismissing people who don't agree with me as being bogan Something I need to work on.

    I guess I am like everyone else and the things that are taboo, and shouldn't be joked about, or made light of, are the things I feel passionate about.

    - Family violence
    - racism
    - gender equality
    - social justice and equality
    - the Jewish Holocaust and any form of genocide
    - religious intolerance

    Language is the most powerful tool/weapon we have as humans. It forms our thoughts, social mores and values - good and bad. It defines us as a society and as individuals. (Read 1984 by George Orwell or anything by Noam Chomsky if you are not sure what I am talking about.) That's why it's so important.

    I don't use the c word, the n word, call things 'gay' as a putdown, use 'girl/woman' as a putdown...the list goes on

    I like to think I am not being PC but RC - respectfully correct.
