I often wonder if anybody has figured out who I am. Wish they'd tell me if they did.

Personally I would love for someone to come up to me and say hi if they know me through here. When we moved here, its because of one member, who rarely uses BB these days, that I have the friends I have here.
What I say on here I stand by in person. If I am venting then I will probably vent the same things to my close friends. Yes there are some things that I like to keep in here, but of we have an understanding that what is said on BB stays on BB then I have no problem.

But in your case Kazzo I would bring it up via the blog.

ETA, just wanted to add that bb is my safe haven, but I have a lot of trust in you all and I think that makes the situation less freaky.

I'm pretty much the same as BAL and Jungle. As far as I know I've never come across anyone IRL from BB but am often wondering!

Being the Internet, I tend to take the attitude that anything I say on BB is public and lasts forever. Imagine it put up on a billboard for everyone to see.

It makes you rethink the way you post.

Of course, if my MIL ever joins I might have to face some fury. But I'm up for that.

I was recognised by a bber at the beginning of the year...I'm a second year student mid at griffith and i spoke to the first years for 1.5hrs at the beginning of the year in on of their lecturers sharing my twins birth story as it was a 100% natural, active, intervention free birth and Mama Spice recognised me....personally I thought it was cool! So I was glad she told me!

I think if I recognised someone I would tell them, because I know if someone recognised me I would want them to tell me.

The cup I use at work is my bellybelly cup, so it's sorta out there!!!

I think that if you're following a blog, then it is sorta polite to just mention that you are reading blogs ... to me, if you recognise a client / customer then you may make decisions influenced by that knowledge, and if you feel it may be detrimental, that would really suck for them. It's very close to the being the boss of your mate, ITMS?

I keep this forum very private from my family and friends. I refer to it as "my mothers forum" and none of them have asked. Though in saying that i have referred a few friends here who have joined and are the silent reader types but nothing i post i don't discuss with them anyways.

It wasn't until a certain family member found me and proceeded to 'stalk' me because i had accidently come across her on another forum and found out she was pregnant well before she had announced to family. It turned messy but i didnt appreciate being deliberately stalked. I'm sure she still reads my posts but meh whatever i eventually got over it. She whinged she read things she didn't want to know but nobody said she had to 'stalk' me.

I'm too oblivious when i am out and about to know if anyone would be from BB. Misty as well as a few others i know quite well, well considering Misty you live right around the corner!

This is a funny question because it does my head in when I do the annual survey lol!!! I have a question: Would you recommend BB to family and friends? There are lots of, 'no, I dont want them to know'!!! Hahaha

    wow what a great thread..
I have been feeling both ways in the past..

when i was first on BB doing IVF/ ICSI ... only my is and 2 very close friends knew i was doing it... I would have been horrified if anyone else knew so remained completely annon to everyone on here ..

after all my BFN ...s i made a couple of friends on here who were just BB friends..... anyway i had one of them ask if she could email me... since i have more than one email i gave her the one i hardly use ............

she was also from Tassie and lived in a suburb of Hobart which was an outer suburb.... a VERY small area which I knew 2 pwople who lived there......I never told her i knew these people ..

we emailed for ages and finally after lots of emailing i agreed to being her friend on FB ....... this was a BIG step for me ...... we had a lot in common .... well now i have moved to Brissy ... I went back to Tassie to visit friends and stayed with one who lives in same suburb as BB friend and ended up meeting her .. was a good meet up and got to meet her kids too ... her and her DH both had cuddles with my baby too.

was a little weird but she was nice and her DH too .....

hey Jude .. you're prob reading this !!! lol

i used to be scared but now i have my baby i am less scared about it... I actually have 3 friends now from BB on facebook..... met one .... chatted to another heaps on the phone ... she lives in SA so a bit far away for visits and only recently someone who lives near me who i have yet to meet

i would do it again but i am carefull ....

    great topic girls

I changed my username awhile ago as I realised that the username I had was a nickname from when I was a kid that friends and family knew me by and I didn't want them to recognise me on BB and also when I typed my username into google ages ago it came up with a post about my birth announcement! still does actually! I just checked!

I seen a few people say that they find their posts when they google their usename. So I decided to google mine. 20 pages in and nothing...

But all I get is Beans Beans Beans the magical fruit they make you...... havent thought of that song in years! Oh and I forgot how healthy they are for you

eta, did you know there is an entire website dedicated to the growing, storing and preparation and cooking of beans?

eta2, I went through 70 google pages about beans, nothing. Only I learned a lot about beans and their uses.

Ooooh, I just googled my username and no roads lead to Rome - not one single reference that actually applies to me, phew! Heaps of other people using the name, though. Weird, I came up with it in collaboration with another BB user to describe a unique situation!

I googled mine and got nothing exciting so i googled my old username and got referred to a post from a forum i used to be on where a lady was looking for me so rejoined just so i could reconnect with her! That really made my day... but i do hate how many posts are out there under my old username.....

I'm highly googleable. My username is the same for everything LOL! Even typing my real name (maiden) into google images gets pics of me. My FB, Twitter, everything, I fill the first page or two I believe. Privacy fail. Lots of old forums I was on as a teenager that embarrass me too!

oh wow, PZ that is pretty awesome though! I search my name, madien and married, and I get nothing! Funny how some people are easy to search for and others are much harder.
