Question Has anyone used Progesterone Pessaries?

    Hi all,
Was really hoping someone could help and maybe give me some advice.
I am currently day 13 of TWW and am taking Progynova 1x 3 and Pessaries 3 x 3 times daily.I am feeling soooo sick. I have had light brown mucosy discharge since last night and a little cramping. I also have a very bright orange discharge from my bottom (so sorry for the graphic detail) due to I guess using the pessaries rectally which I was told to do as they absorb better there and my levels were low.
I am thinking this isn't normal and would love some feedback.....am totally mortified to post but anyway!! HELP!

    Cheers,
    Claire

    hi hun

you poor thing. i used pessaries last cycle and felt pretty gross the first week, cramps heaviness (bottom about to fall out feeling) etc but i didn't use as many as you or rectally. i didn't have any discharge like you are having but that may be normal??

i would give your clinic a call first thing this morning and talk it through with them.
you are almost finished with your 2WW. best of luck with everything,

    :hugs:

    Aren't they messy, horrible things

I've never used them rectally either, but I know they can cause a reaction using them vaginally, some discharge and light bleeding, so maybe it's the same??

    Ditto to ringing your clinic!

I had to use the Progesterone pessaries during my first trimester due to low levels; i had brownish discharge (old blood) but had this before starting them. Never noticed any discharge from the bottom area but in saying this i dont think i ever looked.
If your feeling unsure i would contact your doctor to ease any concerns you may have.

I have never used them rectally and didn't start using them until my pg was confirmed. I didn't use as many as you, one - twice a day and that was messy enough. I had cramping but I don't know if it was from the pessaries or the FSH and HCG injections. It might be best if you call your dr and talk to him about.

Good luck, I hope it is worth it and you get your BFP!

Big Hugs hope it brings your levels up

Girls.....thankyou so much for your reply's.....
    guess what I am PREGNANT!!
Am so thrilled and feel so amazingly blessed!!!
I spoke to nurse about the discharge and she said in 10 years she's never heard of it LOL...nice!! Probably irritation from so much progesterone so have to mix it up a bit now!
Wishing you all the very best of luck with the journey to having a family.
    Hugs,
    Claire

    Firstly, congratulations!!!!!

Secondly, the orange discharge that you described is normal - I used the pessaries during my tww vaginally but I have several girlfriends who used them in the first trimester for FET cycles (so long term) vaginally who also had the orange discharge. It's weird but definately common!

I'm surprised the nurse hadn't heard of it before.
