if you have known poor egg quality i would lean towards ICSI to get the best quality embryos. yes, it's more invasive, and more exxy, but in all honesty, it is probably more likely to have success.
with IUI you're hoping you get a quality egg, you're hoping the sperm meet the egg, you're hoping for fertilisation and implantation. at least with ICSI you know that you are putting back the embryos with the best chance of success
we went through seven IUI's and three IVF transfers before getting DD (we only did IUI again as we live regional and i couldn't NOT do anything while waiting for the clinic to be local again) - the unknown with IUI is much harder to cope with, kwim?
