Luisella - good luck for EPU etc - how is the stimming going? When is EPU scheduled? Thinking of you!
Molisa - good luck with your consultation!
Weemansmummy - glad to hear things are going well!
Can I ask, are you able to transfer embryos that are carriers? My DP will be going next with PGD (yes I'm already thinking about it and twins are only 10 weeks old!!) - DP's a carrier for haemophilia, X-linked so would expect on average 25% of her embryos to be carriers and 25% to be affected - and 50% unaffected. We can do sex selection if we want (only put females back - only males get affected by haemophilia but females can be carriers) but I think we'll check for the specific gene defect (more expensive unfortunately but just somehow sits better with me than flushing all the male embryos down the drain - obviously this is an individual decision though). But I can't remember what we were told a few years ago as to whether they allow you to put carrier embryos back? In some ways we wouldn't want to, just so the gene issues end in this generation; so that a potential DD wouldn't have to go through PGD - then again, who knows what technology will be available for our kids??
Has anyone else had a dilemma about putting carrier embryos back?
