I am starting to feel very nervous about our first cycle of IVF  . I just noticed Suzy that we are on the exact same timeline at the moment. I am downregging on synarel at the moment & have an appt on 3/01 to start injections. My EC should be around the same time as yours as well Looks like we are cycle buddies!
Leis I hope your DH gets the job closer to home, that will definately come in handy!
Trish I bet you had a lovely Christmas, 2 babies on the way, that is so special. I said a little prayer for you during the Christmas Carols the other night!!
Hi everyone I'm a bit behind on whos doing what!! I am on my last cycle of BCP before FET in Januray. I am beginning to feel like a BB veteran it will be a year next week since I first stumbled on to this fabulous site!!
Love and Luck to everyone
I have my appointment at Sharkeys tomorrow. I am a little bit nervous and hesitant... not really looking forward to it, as I don't want to drag up all the TTC stuff again.. I am trying to ignore my infertility and hoping it might go away! Emu sydnrome (head in the sand) i don't really want to go but my mum and sister and DH are pushing me... so i will just go along and see what they say... I will log in and give a full report tomorrow... take care and enjoy the festive season...
Good Luck Leis......Just go on in with an open mind and take in what they say....you'll be fine. I'm tossing up about contacting them also, so I can't wait for your report tomorrow.
Girls...I have a dilema on my hands. As you know, the clinic has closed until the 9th Jan, and instructions were that if AF arrived then to start clomid and check in once they re-open. Well i've been having some really, bearly there spotting for the last few days and today, enough of AF to use a tampon (sorry if TMI). Come late this arvo, and the bleeding has stopped. I'm not too sure what to do, whether i take this as CD1 and start clomid on CD5, or if i should wait and see what happens with the bleeding. If it continues, then i'll take the clomid, but if it doesn't, do i hold off?
I'm really confused as to what to do. Normally i would just jump on the phone to the clinic, but they can't help me at the moment.
Leis: good luck for your appointment - and looking forward to hearing how it went. I recently went to a local (country Vic) Naturopath who specialises in fertility and have decided it's worth a try- it's only three weeks in but I am feeling a bit better and healther already!
Shan: can't believe AF is causing havoc (although I've discovered it's typical of the old :af: !). Not sure I can offer much help but maybe see what happens over the next couple of days? Hope AF starts behaving soon!
I think i remember my gynea saying that with clomid you had to have a full bleed to start the clomid. And if your bleed started at say 1 pm onwards to take the next day as day one of your cycle. My days i used to take it were from 3-7. I would wait until you have a full bleed that continues through until the start date. This is a pain in the butt drug and messes big time with hormones etc.
I had insominia, and tiredness as well as severe acne, mood swings and depression on this, as well as very very heavy periods. I hope it works for you first go Shan... it is such a yukky drug. Maybe you will be one of the lucky few that will have nil side effects.. Oh did i mention the really nice hot flushes you get too????
Good luck honey, but i would wait until you get a full bleed.
Thanks Leis...But the non-bleeding didn't last too long. It seems that as soon as I ever open my mouth to anyone about anything that's going on with my AF ie, friends, GP etc, then it automatically does the opposite just to spite me. LOL
This will actually be the second time round on clomid for me. I had the first lot back in October, and to tell you the truth, i didn't really feel any different. I had heard a lot about what it can do to you etc, and thought to myself that maybe it wasn't working, but I guess, as you say, I am one of the lucky ones. I think i would feel better though if i did get some side effects, then at least i know it's doing something.
Marg - Just wanting to know if your naturopath is in Benella, and if so, I'd love to hear how you've been going with her, as a friend of mine suggested to see her some months ago, as she had spoken to her naturopath here about my infertility, just to get a bit of info, and she suggested to see this lady in Benella who has done wonders for infertile couples. Actually even if it's not her, i'd love to know how it's all going. I find it all quite interesting and i hope that it works out for you. XXX
Mods, can you please update my info to show 67 days (laperoscopy cycle) for the last cycle. Thanks muchly.
Shan: good luck with your 2nd round of Clomid. I must admit I also didn't get many side effects when I was taking it with my last IVF attempt. As you said, sometimes I worry if it's actually working - as at least with side effects you know it's hopefully doing it's thing!
I am seeing a local Naturopath here in Bendigo. I think they are worth trying if nothing else is succeeding (or even before then). Even if it's 'all in my head' I am still feeling a lot healther so something must be working - of course it's only early days! The first month I have to cut all processed carbs out of my diet, ie. bread, pasta, rice etc. I have had to increase my protein to at least 3 serves a day - with lots of veggies and salads (the protein has been a challenge since I eat hardly any red meat!). I'm also taking Flaxseed oil (yuk!).
She wants to get my insulin levels stable first and have a look at my chart for the month - then when I go back in a couple of weeks she'll adjust my diet (hopefully letting me have the occasional carbs!!!) and will also put me on a tonic or two! She seems to think one of the tonics should help with my fibroids as well so I'm really curious to see how it all goes! And she was almost 9 months pregnant when I saw her so she must be doing something right!!!

Marg - Thanks for the info. And now that you mention Bendigo, it makes me think that it could have been Bendigo my friend was talking about - not Benella. It was definately a 'B' town anyway. Bendigo would make more sence though. Good luck with it. Hope it all works out for you.
Jane - A big welcome to you and hope that your stay is short. You will find the girls in here absolutely fantastic, and if you have any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to ask. Even if you want to Vent your frustrations, that's fine. I have done so many times!!!
I agree with you on trying the natropath. I have been going for about a year now and whilst I haven't fallen pg (yet!!!), I feel better and I feel like my body is working better. Once you get going it isn't too hard to cut certain foods out and once you start feeling great for not eating them it makes it alot easier. I slip up every now and then and have things I shouldn't but for the most part I stay away from things I have been told too!!!! I have stopped seeing her currently but I have really taken on board what the natropath has said. Some of the different tonics she gave me to take weren't making me feel great so I cut them out. So combined with what she has told me and what I have learnt about my body myself I would have to say this is the best I have felt in 10 years.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and Boxing Day,
Skye - Hello cycle buddy. Where do you live? Just thought it'd be a coincidence if you were at the same clinic as me. I'm at IVF Australia in Chatswood, Sydney. How old is your dd? I have a ds from my first ivf cycle - he turned one yesterday - I felt so sentimental and emotional about it. This current cycle is my third.
Fireman's girl - I'm very interested about your appointment at Sharkey's. I'm also interested in whether they've published any results, so I"m looking forward to your storey.
Hi Suzy!
I am seeing Dr Knight at NGF in Parramatta. Our DD will be 2 in Feb, ikwym about turning 1. I blubbered through her bday, just couldn't believe she was turning 1 already!!
All the best for your next ivf cycle. This is our first cycle & we are doing an ICSI. They are the same price at out clinic & the outcomes were a bit higher so we figured we'd give it a go.
Thinking of you today Leis, hope it all goes well. Can't wait to hear what they have recommended.
