False positive hpt on IVF?

Good morning ladies,

I'm due to have my preg bt tomorrow and I did a hpt this morning "for fun" and it came up positive! Has anyone had a false positive hpt while on ivf before? I'm suddenly very aware it could be the hcg from the Pregnol injection I had a week ago... I don't want to get too excited just yet just in case its false.

My sister was in your exact situation a while ago, and now has a gorgeous baby girl!!! I think the pregnol should of settled by now.... I'm crossing all my fingers for you, GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Hi Bella,

I have been told not to do HPT when on stimulated cycles - and only to do a HPT when doing a fet cycle. I really have no answer for you on this one - i really hope you are UTD.

I did one before my b/t and it came up positive - he is sleeping in his cot right now!!

I was the same and didn't really accept that the hpt meant anything, I tried not to get too excited just in case.

I was very naughty & tested on the Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday before my Friday BT

All three were positive and I'm now 25 weeks pregnant! Good luck with your BT, hopefully it's a really big BFP!

It depends on the Pregnol strength, do you know what it was?

I didn't do IVF, but I had a HCG injection, and tested 12 days later and got a BFP, and I'm almost 12 weeks pregnant, so I hope this is it for you!

Leasha I had a hcg injection of 500iu last tuesday - I originally was meant to have any as hormones were great, but they suggested I still have it to help embie along.

Didnt tell DH I did hpt cos didnt want to get his hopes up just in case! Fingers are crossed! Will know for sure on Thursday!!!

Oooooooooooooooo! Congratulations! The injection levels would be below 5 today, so your BFP would probably be a little bubba in there making some HCG of its own! :-D Hope your blood test shows a great big
