I studied Kinesiology some years ago now but never really practiced as it was more for myself. And yes I am a sceptic too.
Its a whole body/person type of thing, couldn't hurt. Although there are many different types of Kinesiology. So long as you see someone who is understanding you have nothing to lose.
Kinesiology was originally developed in the Chiropractic field (although there is no crunching involved). It was found that certain muscles responded and were connected with different systems in the body. It is 'muscle testing' often referred to as biofeedback. Its not based on strength but the integrity of a system. The muscle is used as a reference point for testing. You may be asked to put your arm or leg in a certain position and the practitioner will apply pressure to test a muscle which in effect is testing a particular system eg. large intestine, lungs etc. it is similar to acupuncture and in fact can use meridan points for correction. The whole point is to bring your body into balance. And in particular the type of Kinesiology I used expanded into most areas of a person ie. emotion, lifestyle etc. It can be very deep and very powerful but its up to you to choose whether this is for you. Listen to your inner voice and see what it says.
As for me I haven't used it during my fertility treatment - i'm not sure why - i think I have some emotional stuff to deal with and I am just not facing it. But who knows, go with your gut feeling.
