Okay. Sitting home alone with a cup of coffee ready to post something about my appointment with the FS.

I havent exactly processed it yet, nor made any really firm decisions about where to from here, but I thought I should get it all out anyway. Excuse me if this comes out garbled or confused....
Dp and I had talked the night before. He had said he doesnt want to give up but he doesnt want to keep doing the same thing over again and get the same (negative) results. I agreed with him. So the next day i walked in there (DP couldnt take time off work) and basically said the same to my FS. I told her there were a couple of things I had researched/heard about that I wanted to run by her.
She said she understood my position but she still thought pregnancy was not beyond me and that it was still a case of coming up with that lucky embryo.

She said the main three things affecting outcome (for me) are my age, my weight (108kgs) and adenomyosis. She said
there is nothing I can do about my age or the adenomyosis, although women can and do get pregnant with it. She said my weight is an issue (we have talked about it previously) and she recommended a gastric band. She believes this will help me get pregnant.

I asked about my the quality of my eggs. She said I have flashes of brilliance. (Obviously not brilliant enough!) My last
    embryos were good quality.

I asked about the pipelle biopsy during a cycle (as based on Vic's experience). She laughed and said no way during a cycle.

I asked about doing a colorado protocol. She said, it's bulls**t. NK cells are crap and make no difference. We have spoken about this before....

She said she was happy to refer me on to see Dr Nick Lolatgis at Monash IVF. She said she had referred a few patients on to him because he does things that are not usual practice (ie. NK cells work). She said she is good friends with him and he is really great.

She also said she will do a hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy on me if I like, to test my NK cell levels. I agreed and I am booked in for July 30. She also added, 'even though it is bulls**t and pathology will note on the results that testing and treating them has absolutely no therapeutic benefit'.

I thanked her and left with my hospital admissions form and payment schedule.

I later got off the train, into my car and booked an appointment to see Dr Lolatgis on Monday 23 July.

I am 41 years old tomorrow. I am wondering if I am just wasting my time. I dont know about gastric banding. I tend not to want to do it. I know I wont lose weight without it, certainly not in the time frame i need to lose it.

So, we'll go get another opinion, spend another couple of thousand dollars on a procedure that probably has no benefit at all. And keep praying for a miracle.

eta - I forgot to say we also talked about donor eggs. She mentioned Spain as a good option. DP thought that was a lovely idea
