Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014

Positively your so funny! You make me lol in a good way - you so remind me of me! Are you a Capricorn by any chance? If you want to catch up let me know, sorry I haven't pm'd you, for some reason my PM's always go pear shaped, I'm in the western suburbs - where are you?

Regarding the fresh v frozen debate. My FS (who has been my gynae for 13 years) and delivered all my babies (including the twins, even though he had retired and is no longer an OB - so cool as he came along to assist my new OB) will not say frozen is better than fresh or vice a versa. My opinion is that your body has already been through so much with a fresh transfer... So perhaps giving your body a month to recover and then doing a FET helps? Not sure as I said, I've never had a fresh transfer? I do believe if it's going to happen, it will happen regardless of fresh or frozen - as long as they internal environment is right. This cycle I did everything I said I wouldnt - ran around like a headless chook, got no rest, ate crap (DH is an amazing cook but he's away), lifted the twins, I even jumped on the trampoline (moment of madness where I forgot about the transfer) I also had a hot bath on Saturday night (idiot).

As for the trigger - pretty exciting!! Just wait in a few days, or maybe even today you will look like your 6 months pregnant! That's the bit I hated... Seriously I couldn't do my jeans up! And my 12 year old asked if I was pg.... That trigger makes you so bloated it's not funny! But it goes away about 8 -9 days post trigger.... It's a bit disconcerting.

Good luck for your transfer! Do you know when it is yet? If you decide to POAS make sure you use a FRER - I wish had have! Could have saved myself a fair bit of unnecessary stress. Got a nice stronger line on a FRER this morning...

Have a great day ladies.... And I have everything crossed for those that are cycling or about to cycle.

Ooooooo so much happening in here - lots of movement.

I can't really add to fresh vs frozen debate as I don't have any experience in that area.

Had another bt this morning so am waiting for results - the bleed has stopped but given I am CD27 I doubt I have actually O'ed this cycle

Hi again Ladies......as you can see my mind is not at work today!

TTL - Glad I can make you smile/laugh. I am a Leo not a typical one though. I live North but work in Subi on Roberts Road to be exact so yes we should catch up for a coffee if you are around, would like that! After reading what you said about the FET cycle I recall now asking my FS why and he said something along the lines of they think it's because your body goes through so much with an IVF cycle that it affectS the chances of a BFP. So what you are saying rings true and sure makes sense if you think about it.

I have a pair of pants on today and boy is that a big mistake im bursting at the seams...lol back to dresses and skirts i think. Ok so I have to expect that bloated feeling to lessen as the days go by? is that even if you are pregnant?
Oh yes transfer is Saturday not sure of the time apparently the embryologist will call on Friday before they start thawing and advise a time for Saturdays transfer.

I am just so pleased the FN said my levels were textbook and they couldn't ask for better at least the environment is perfect for a little embryo

Joski - man you must be super frustrated with your body at the mo', big hugs hun

1more - Well done on making your decision, i think you are doing the right thing. So normal to second guess your decision so dont fret too much. I would 100% suggest start taking Vitex now, it is the best all round herb for reproductive health however it takes a couple of months to start taking effect so hence the start now! I will private message you in this regard re good brands. GL with the eating and drinking better, try go for a walk at least 4 days a week so good for the body and soul

Rai, I highly recommend trying acupuncture! The best time to start is 4 months before the IVF to maximise egg quality (and 3 months before if you want to send your hubby to maximise sperm quality!)!! I'd also start taking 600mg of CoQ10 now for egg quality too. Oh, and contradicting PGTC, I would NOT take vitex to prepare for IVF without a naturopath or TCM practitioner supervising the use. I tried it briefly (on the recommendation of my acupuncturist) and had unpleasant side effects. I don't think it agreed with my body...

3rdTL, glad to hear today's test was so much clearer! Congrats! FX for great numbers when you get your b/t!!

PositivelyGTC, when I got the BFP with DD (via IVF), I was super bloated until 10wks. It disappeared a few days after trigger, but came back around 10dpo... I needed maternity pants right from the beginning...

TTL, congratulations!! Wonderful news. Wishing you HnH 9 months.

1more, seconding jupiter's advice re acupuncture. I also take Chinese herbs as does DH. Statistics are behind acupuncture in relation to IVF success rates too. They are doing a further study on it at MIVF.

PosGTC, keeping fingers crossed for your cycle.

1more - agree with Juniper and WW re the Acupuncture. I go every week when im not cycling and when I am I go on the therapists advised days. I love it, its amazing for stress. I have been going for over 2 years now and I know I haven't yet got my BFP but my health has improved and I'm happier for it too.

Your Acupunturist will be able to prescribe Chinese herbs to assist with your specific needs. GL
