Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014

Jane, we started TTC#2 as soon as AF returned because of my endo. Every cycle the endo will grow back a little more, so it made sense to start immediately. It has been almost 2 years now and we're yet to have enough money for an IVF, but we did a FET with our one and only frozen embie and 3 IUIs...

Jane welcome, hope your stay is short xx

Quick Question. Should I also be taking melatonin as well as the COQ10 for ivf?

Hi Ladies, hope we are all well

Jane - welcome hope you have a short and sweet stay with us, it really is each to their own that being said if I were you and you think you are feeling strong enough I would start IVF as soon as you can, perhaps get your body ready first though.......just my opinion hope I don't offend you or anyone else

1more - hey it can't hurt to try the melatonin too must be something in it if the FS is wanting me to use it. GL hun

Everyone else just wanted to say Hi, I am thinking of you and GL to all wherever you are in your journey

AFM - I am just taking it easy happy that I am making in roads to improving my chance of improving my egg quality. Looking forward to seeing the Naturopath this weekend, its funny how anything you do that in your mind constitutes as one step closer to achieving a BFP makes you feel better. We have an apt with the FC on the 2 May to sign forms to start a IVF cycle when we are ready for it, apparently forms are valid for 6 months.

Oh yes Juniper thanks a mil for mentioning that your GP referral expires I asked the clinic yesterday when mine expires and it's mid June so I have made a note to make an appoint for the next one! would have been awful to run out just as I may have wanted to start a new round with the clinic.

Ok lovely Ladies I must get going, have a superb day Love & Light to all xx

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014

Hi Ladies, hope everyone is well and getting nice and excited about our upcoming long weekend

Yesterday arvo I started feeling as bloated and stretchy as I did the day after the trigger and I had on and off cramping/pulling kind of feelings right down below sort of just above the pubic bone. it was really uncomfortable so much so I was going to go for a walk last night with DH but instead got in to bed early. Has anyone had this at 7dpo? any ideas what it could be?

This morning I am still feeling bloated but not the stretchy feeling and no cramping
I was starting to wonder last night if it was a uti

Anyway lovely Ladies just wanted to wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend with your loved ones, may it be full of special moments and lots of love & happiness

I have a pretty busy weekend but will pop in at some point to support you all

    Love & light xx

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014

Hi N2L thank you so much for responding!! And for getting the spelling right!! I knew I had it wrong but couldn't work out which bit was wrong... So sorry ladies for giving you the wrong name and a bum steer so to speak, hopefully you weren't trying to google the wrong name! N2L can I ask - If you were diagnosed 10 years ago - how have you managed the condition since then? I ask because my diagnoses is relatively new, so I have had one D&C and I've been told by my gynae/FS that after this pg I will need to have a hysterectomy (sour family will be well and truly finished) to get rid of the the condition once and for all... I have been advised that if I have my uterus removed but keep my right ovary, that assuming I don't have any cysts on my right ovary that need to be removed, I will be able to keep my right ovary and not have to go on hormone replacement, to prevent menopause symptoms at the relatively young age of 38.

Have you had to have fairly regular D&C's to have the Adenomyosis removed? It's actually really great to meet someone else who has it, although I'm really sorry you have it and I hope that it isn't causing you massive complications with TTC

Juniper it's great you've made a Dr's appointment and I guess it's just something worth mentioning/ asking about. I'm not sure about you, but I just sometimes feels as though it's one medical issue after another... Which after a while becomes tiresome and you just get 'over it'. Hopefully Adenomyosis won't be an issue for you - but I guess its good to be aware it exists in case this is something that comes up in the future.

Joski - yay for the levels continuing to rise! I agree with whoever said just keep BD'ing, hopefully it will all be for a good cause The "shocking lower back pain" is something I struggle with as well every cycle and it's just debilitating, I hope the info above may help you as well - but I also really hope you don't have Adenomyosis - that being said, I'm assuming it's nit that common and so same as shimmied I hope it's not something you need to give much thought to!

N2L thanks so much for explaining what causes the pain! It really is debilitating isn't it? It's good to 'see you again on BB' I haven't been here much since my twinnies were born in 2012. But I have fond meninges of cycling with you, before they were conceived (I am also really grateful for you providing the correct spelling! I feel really bad for getting the name wrong for The super j's (Joski and Juniper) - like the super K's on the Block

Happy Sunday ladies - hope everyone has a great day.

    Xxx
TTL, sorry about the delay in replying. I honestly don't come in here other than for a quick read. I feel I don't have that much to contribute except negativity (lol) and no-one wants to hear that. I honestly think that IVF is sold as a 'miracle' but you don't hear about the over 40% of people it doesn't work for, of which I am one. And I have tried everything - melatonin (for a year), coQ10 (for years now), acupuncture, Chinese herbs, weightloss, experimental drugs, pipelle biopsy, Colorado protocol, steroids, antibiotics, Intralipids.... everything. Nothing worked. And no one can say why :/

The adeno could be a contributing factor. I have had a couple of D&Cs, but there is no treatment other than hysterectomy. A D&C can make it worse due to the scarring it can cause. My adeno is diffuse, which means it is throughout my pelvis. My periods are really heavy, extremely painful and very clotty. I usually just live on Panadeine forte, Nurofen extra and endone for that week. I am not ready for a hysterectomy yet.

My uterus is also really bulky and enlarged and my ovaries have been displaced because of it. They now sit behind my uterus.

A lot of women in their 30s and 40s have at least some adeno. Especially if they have had pelvic surgery - termination, caeserean, D&C, etc.

Anyway, I have pretty much given up on the whole having a baby thing. It obviously just isn't in our future Which isn't to stay I don't track my cycle and jump DP throughout ovulation time but, deep down, I know it isn't going to happen. We started hardcore TTC when I was 36. I am 43 next birthday. That's a lot of BFNs and a lot of tears. If it was going to happen, it would have by now.

Anyway, like I said, I'm full of negativity and bitterness, so I apologise for that, but that's my and DP's reality. LTTTC doesnt always have a happy ending, I guess and i personally think it's important that people go into AC realising that's the case.

Anyway, enough of Debbie Downer I wish everyone here well. I'll continue stalking and trying to catch my crappy eggs.

Which reminds me, I am 2dpo thanks juniper. I had a horrendous ovulation this month. Bleeding brown blood and bad pain. I think I o'ed from my left side (which is the side my tube was removed from in December) so I guess that's the reason.

N2L - I felt like I had to reply to your post, because I have had such similar feelings of anger and bitterness at times. I really really wish for a twist in the tale for you. But I really think like you say it can be important to acknowledge that AC isn't always a miracle solution for everyone. I have a few close friends who have closed the door on it, and are moving on. I really hope that you get some peace with moving on, if you choose and/or some peace with continuing to try. I think it's really brave to be honest about the negative side too.
    lots of love,
