AFM, I had some serious O pain yesterday, I had to take some pain killers as the pain on the left was that bad. I get so depressed when I have this kind of pain . I always wonder what my chances of catching that egg would be if I was with someone who didn't have severe male infertility. This may sound weird and I hope it doesn't offend anyone, but sometimes I dream of just jumping some guy's bones without OH knowing and seeing if I could get pg without doing this IVF crap lol. Seriously, I would never do it, but I sometimes wonder what it would be like to not have to worry about the other person's 'infertility'. Humf, having one of those days

Wooooo hooooo for Ov Joski!! Super thrilled for you! I have no doubt that with all the BT's and resulting BD'ing you have been doing - there is no doubt there will be 1,000's of little sperms waiting for your egg or eggs! You've been so patient and hopefully because ov is quite late in your cycle - your hormone levels will be awesome and you'll have a super strong, excellent ov this cycle! Delighted for you it's finally happened and its not an anovulatory cycle!

I like the nickname the 'super J's as well, I'm gl you like it!! As you and Juniper are going to ovulate quite closely together - it may just stick! Fingers crossed you both have great ov cycles together and you both get your bfp's this cycle - how cool would that be!

Hey Juniper - as for the early menopause thing - I have never really thought about this, but you make a really good point! I don't know enough about menopause, and what the causes are of going into early menopause... But personally,i have always judged the possibility of early menopause by my AMH levels - mine are 'too high' for my age according to my FS, which is sometimes caused by PCOS (which I also have).

Because my AMH is unnaturally high for my age (I'll be 38 in January as well) I never really thought I would go into menopause, and my FS has never mentioned it (I'm going to research whether there is a link between Adenomyosis and early menopause?) my estrogen and progesterone levels have always been pretty normal as far as I am aware but I have no idea about whether it could be early menopause? I really hope not because I am terrified of having to go on hormone replacement (I've always been really concerned bout the link with hormone replacement therapy and breat cancer which my MIL has made me paranoid about I reckon).

One of my good friends from school has been doing IVF for the last 8 months, and really sadly she has done maybe 5 fresh cycles and never had a successful transfer that has resulted in a bfp In those cycles she has always had either just one embie survive for transfer, or maybe one for transfer and one embie for freezing - but onnher two most recent cycles - the embie didn't survive the thaw for a day. 3 transfer

She is 37 same as me and her mother went into early menopause at 35 (but forgot to tell her until she was struggling with conception) Her AMH is 1.3, down from 3 when she was tested 18 months ago... Her FS (she has been going to a different FS to me - but has just moved to my FS as she is only going to be doing 2 final fresh cycles and if not successful they are going to stop trying and focus on the gorgeous 5 yr old daughter they already have). The reason I bring that up is that she has been diagnosed as being ore menopausal, or soon to go into menopause (her old FS believes the reason she has not conceived is that both her egg reserve is low and he thinks her egg quality isn't that great). On the highest doses of gonal-f, Puregon etc she has only ever had one or two eggs suitable for collection in each cycle

However, she has never had mid cycle bleeding, or heavier than normal periods etc (so she isn't suffering with the symptoms we have: mid cycle bleeds, pain, clotting, sore back etc) - which is probably why I have never considered whether I could bender menopausal, because she has been diagnosed with being pre menopausal nut has never had the same symptoms as me (hope that makes sense?) eg it was a very loooonnngggg and round a out way of me saying, try not to worry, I am sure you would have other symptoms as well if you were premenopausal?

Either way - super J's (Joski and Juniper) I have everything crossed that you have awesome natural ov this cycle and you getbyour bfp's.

It's great to meet you and I'm glad you've found this thread (sorry in advance for my ridiculously long posts - I cant seem to be able to help it recently I must have really missed BB after my twins were born ( and I had no time to even pop in and say hi). I hope you have success sooner rather than later! Are you doing IVF or trying naturally?

Miss B - so sorry somehow I missed your post as well! And it made me LOL! I can totally understand how you are feeling! Think I would probably feel the same way. I know it's super frustrating for us as women when our bodies don't work - so I can only imagine how frustrating it must be when you feel as though DH's body is the one letting the team down.. I always feel really sorry for our other halves when the fertility issues are with them. I know it must be so hard for the guys and I guess every guy is different but it's probably not something they really feel like they can talk to their mates about?

I cant imagine my DH having a beer with his mates and coming-out with "yeah we really want to have another baby but my spermies aren't working the way they should"... I wish blokes were inclined to go on a forum like BB and share their feeling. I envy those ladies who have DH's that communicate openly (my DH is so private about this kind of stuff that sometimes he struggles to talk to me about how he's feeling!)

Miss B - It's great you are having strong ov in your cycles at least and that your body ov all by itself? I can only imagine how frustrating it must be, that even though you know you have good ov that falling pg naturally is difficult with your kind of MFI - is IVF the only option open to you with TTC? If it is - I am sending all my love and big hugs that you won't have to wait long to cycle again(if you have decided that you are going to go down the fresh cycle path again?)

Hopefully now that your AMH has improved - you'll get a super haul of eggs on your next cycle, and your bfp is imminent. I think I'd be excited just because of the positive AMH results! It would definitely make me feel more positive about doing another fresh cycle

As for jumping a stranger - just the idea made me lol on a Monday morning. You comment was very funny (not offensive at all) - I'm sure many women in your position have thought and said exactly the same thing!

Naw, thank you all for the lovely welcome! I've been reading through and am really struck by how supportive and positive overall you all are while going through crappy stuff - I really hope no one has to wait too much longer for their much wanted bubbas!

Thirdtimelucky - we're trying naturally for now. In the 2ww at the moment, but if there's no luck this time we're going to see a fs (hubby's been reluctant to go so far, but I think it's starting to really bother him now too, so he's agreed to get some help ). It's been a tricky decision as we've managed to get preg a couple of times, but haven't been able to keep them, so ob has taken the 'just keep trying' approach. I'm getting impatient now!

3rdTL, if your AMH is high, I doubt you have anything to worry about. My AMH, on the other hand, is worse than your friend's. Mine was 1.5 back in June 2012 (at 36yo) and is probably well below 1 by now. I have no family history of early menopause, so the most likely culprit is my endometriosis (causing damage to my ovaries and compromising my eggs).

Twollamas - Hi and welcome to the forum, wishing you a happy but short stay with us. So glad you and DH have decided to see a FS we waited thinking it would just happen naturally and now I could kick our backsides for waiting. Once we finally went to see our GP for a referral she then insisted we wait 12 months before she would give us a referral. In frustration and anger we went and saw another GP who made us wait 6 months when considering we had been trying for almost 3 years at that point really hurt. But we got there in the end but still waiting on the BFP

Juniper - I thought of you over the weekend I knew you had an embie that never survived a thaw and thought how crap I was feeling and knew that is exactly how you would have felt too. It's a different kind of hurt to dong a transfer and finding out its a BFN. You are so strong!! GL this cycle x

Miss B - You made me smile I can only imagine how frustrated you must feel for me the shoe seems to be on the other foot. It would be interesting for sure to see if you jumped some guys bones if you would rather quickly get a BFP, damn why are things so complicated at times hey

I have had a few good cries DH has been a super star and just held me tight while I cried and encouraged me to let it all out. I do feel so much better for it. I am seeing my Naturopath on Saturday whilst we were on the last break I started taking some herbs which I am pretty sure she said would increase me egg quality so going to chat to her and see what else she suggest before we try again. Started taking the C0Q10 on Saturday
I am determined to get my BFP, i just want one surely that is not to much to ask for!!

Sorry Ladies just a quick question......how many days does it take for the Ovidril trigger to leave your system?

PositivelyGTC, our situation was slightly different. We did once have an embie not survive the thaw, but we had two to thaw that cycle. The time our transfer was cancelled was actually a fresh cycle - we had 6 embies, so we tried for a 5dt and none made it to transfer... Adding insult to injury, it was December and AF showed up on Christmas Eve... It was our next stim cycle (2dt) that gave us DD, so we went from one extreme to the other from one stim cycle to the next!
For the ovidrel, it varies from woman to woman - you're generally looking at 10-14 days from trigger, although some women metabolise it even faster or slower than those times...

BTW, Joski, let me know which day is O day if you want it on the list.

The clinic called when we do proceed with another IVF they are going to put me on melatonin too which is supposed to increase egg quality...has anyone ever heard of this? any feed back appreciated

Also asked what my AMH level was as I have seen you Ladies chatting about it, well mine is 4 that doesn't sound very good at all

Positively, I took melatonin during my IUI cycles last year. Best sleep I had all year! An AMH of 4 is below average, so it's good you're doing all you can to TTC right now. Doing what you can to help egg quality is about all you can really do...

Positively - good to se you back. Umm trigger was 10 days for me and I got a very clear negative on day 11...

Sounds as though Melatonin and CoQ10 will be great for your egg quality.. 4 is below average but it's not the end of the world.plenty of women still fall pg with low AMH, sometimes it just takes longer than one would like...xx

I mentioned getting bt for O to one of my friends (she is one of the freakish people who fell pg first go!) she did mention that perhaps I'm too acidic and that is killing off the sperm? Has anyone ever experienced this? My FS didn't mention it and she is pretty open about things like that.

Hope its ok to post here. For those of you who have had or are trying to have second or third kids via ivf, how did you know you were ready to jump back on the ivf bandwagon. My dd just turned one. She took us twelve months of ivf to conceive and whilst I know id like to give her a sibling one day im petrified of doing ivf again. Its such a hard journey and I dont know if im ready to cope with the rollercoaster ride. But will I ever be?

Jane, I thought about adding to our little family when DS was around 6 months old, OH just laughed (silly bugger). I really wanted to try from when he was 12 months old, and we eventually started on the IVF rollercoaster again when he was 22 months old. Still trying here, he just turned 4

Positively, my FS believes melatonin helps with egg quality as your body really rests at night when you're on it. I didn't start it till around the time of my last cycle (last year July, but I remember starting it after the second FET from that cycle which would have been around October????), I'm still taking it together with the COQ10. I really thought the melatonin together with COQ10 made my AMH level jump from 8 to 17, but my FS says that when my earlier tests showed a lower result, the test was done incorrectly, so now I'm confused. I'm not sure if it's the error of the testing that's given me such a different reading, or whether it really is the combination of the two tablets that I'm taking that's improved my AMH reading. I'm off to see him is early May, so I will have a chat to him about it.
