TubbyPuff I was terrified of needles (to the point I'd hide under the Dr's desk) but after the first jab I soon got over it! Joeve is right though Clexane does bite...not looking forward to those next week
I'm going to get DP to do the jabbing i think! I won't be able to do it to myself!
What's the clexane? Haha, I think I still have so much to learn!

Perhaps you should do an information night with your clinic. They will explain all the details. Every person and every protocol is different.

PHI doesn't really cover IVF/ICSI. The only thing you may get some money back on is day bed fees for EPU. Everything else isn't covered. You need to go to see a fertility specialist for a referral and have tests for viability. IVF/ICSI may not even be suitable for you.

If IVF/ICSI isn't suitable then there's nothing else we can do..

    Thanks for the advice though

You really should go to a fertility specialist (PHI doesn't cover this either). Your partner will need a few tests/biopsies to determine suitability.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception August 2014

I second what n2l says tubby puff. You can get advice from a FS without starting IVF straight away. I guess there's also the question of vasectomy reversal too. Medicare covers most of the cost. It's only the hospital visits for EPU and ET that are covered by the PHI.

But of course it's up to you, it might just mean that I've done all the preliminary stuff first and therfore you can get cracking on the IVF as soon as your waiting periods are up

And I too found the injections easy. Best thing my clinic did was get me to put the needle into my skin while I was there with the nurse. I didn't push anything in. Just the needle. But it meant when the time came I wasn't as scared. Cause I had done it already in a non pressure situation.

After an entire week of random bleeding and spotting (which started last Thursday), I think AF finally started properly last night. Time will tell... Hopefully this means it will actually stop in a few days! That's the third cycle in a row that it has happened...

Juniper, have you tried maca tablets? Or chinese herbs?

Tubbypuff - I second what n2l and myturn said, I waited so long for my private insurance and I think I just wasted my time, as they only cover the hospital, which in my case was $700, but I had to pay the gap $500, so I only saved $200 and wasted much time.

Hi everyone else, I hope you have a great weekend

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception August 2014

TubbyPuff, I agree with the others as well, private health doesn't cover much at all. It's better to get an appointment with the FS, I know mine takes a bit if time to get into anyway. Most FS like to do all their tests etc & that takes time in itself

Juniper I had most of last month like that! I had to ring up the nurse at my clinic to check it was normal(it had never happened when on Synarel before). Very annoying, I hope it gets back to normal for you!

    CatyO enjoy being PUPO!

AFM I had my scan & BT today, EPU will be Tuesday. I finally get to stop synarel tomorrow night! Trigger on Sunday fingers crossed we get some good quality eggs
