Thanks ladies, I'm feeling pretty horrible today, woke up with a massive headache & can't get rid of it. But otherwise I'm ok, happy with the numbers just keen to see how they went over the last two days.

Krikit that sounds really intense, I hope u are starting to feel better.

Back to bed for me, will catch up on everyone tomorrow xo

Having sore throat one week before next IVF cycle

I just had a bad sore throat and I am taking antibiotics (catalogue A which is safe for pregnancy). My period will come in a week time, should I cancel the cycle or continue doing it?

I've had a cold each time I've done a Stim cycle was so snotty and stuffed up, but they still put me under for EPU....
Unless you really feel like you can't do it... It will probably be fine

Thank you for the advise, I have been fighting for the cold this winter and my IVF have been delayed for two months ( because I just going to start and catch cold), I think I am going to try this time, hope it will not affect the health of the baby, I think I might worried too much.

Hi Rosemarry, I think it depends on the exact nature of your cold/flu. If you have a productive cough and chest congestion, they can be reluctant to do the EPU because of the risks it poses with regard to the anaesthetic. It will be best for you to discuss it with your Dr or clinic to find out their specific requirements/conditions. It would be terrible to turn up on EPU day and be told you can't do it. The antibiotics should not be a problem because many (American) clinics prescribe ABs as part of their standard IVF protocol. It could actually have some benefits for some women.
You may also want to consider if you want to proceed with a cycle if your body is potentially run down and not at its best? Some women are happy to proceed, but others worry it will limit their chances at success. I've gone ahead with a cold in the past (in a cycle that was also back-to-back with the previous IVF) and was then sick for 3 months after because my body was so run down by the end of the cycle. In hindsight, it was the wrong decision for my overall health, but I don't think it had any bearing on the cycle outcome.

    J.Bear, FX for you, hun.

I was anxious too.... The nurse said something to me that helped.... "if it's going to stick it will, no matter what you do..."

I hope it works out for you. All the hormones make you more susceptible to illness and it can be so frustrating...! Good luck xox

@andie78 lol.. injection, not infection! hahahahaha!

rosemary - when my hubby and dd both came down with bronchitis and were on double doses of antibiotics, I asked the clinic if I should continue ahead if I catch it too. The nurse basically said its up to the anaesthetist if he would want to sedate me but the ABs won't effect EPU. Personally I wouldnt want to get THAT far to be told that my EPU would be cancelled and they had already taken my money and pumped me full of hormones.

AFM - feeling a bit better - last injection of gonal f today! I have trigger in the next few hours. Crossing fingers and toes that I can get some good eggies on Tuesday!

I'll be taking ABs as part of my next cycle. It's common with the Colorado protocol.

    Good luck on Tuesday Krikkit!

blossom - goodluck again for tomorrow!

transfer went ok today. quite disappointed as only 3 still going and apparently they are 'slow', so not sure whether they will make it to freeze. was feeling really positive about things lately and today just bought me back down to reality. reality sucks. i know i should be happy with the blast i had transferred today, but im just not. sigh.
