Neptune: Good thinking re your frostie ..
Kelly - You must be excited planning for ET - it's exciting - ten frosties ... !!!! Thats heaps
How did everyone go today at your appointments/scans/bt's ??
After my first IVF/ICSI cycle, we decided to keep going with the stimulated cycles and leave the frostie for a rainy day. The main reason was that if by chance the frostie worked, then it was going to be possibly a couple of years before another stim cycle making me 42 and perhaps it was better to keep stimming and get more in the bank now, IYKWIM. Little did I know that my next two cycles would be failures!

Kelly - You must be excited planning for ET - it's exciting - ten frosties ... !!!! Thats heaps

WLAB: I know 10 frosties is heaps, seeing people like yourselves and Neptune unfortunately struggle to get any to freeze.
Although from our original stim cycle we actually ended up with 15 embryo's. I had 1 fresh transferred at that time and from 9 day 3 & 5 day 5 embryo's frozen. As we are now having 2 transferred at a time, after this next transfer we will be down to having 8 left and having used 7. I know 8 is still a lot to have in the freezer and we have also been lucky so far to not loose any in a thaw, but I am already getting nervous as if this next transfer is unsuccessful then I have used almost half of our original number.
To me that is scary as I was so certain that based on success rates of approx 25% then from 15 embryo's that would be 3 babies. Now based on the numbers game, we are down to 2 babies. But as everyone says "it only takes one" and hopefully this time for both you and me that "the one" is in fact "two".
Evening Ladies it has been a while since I posted but I have been lurking keeping an eye on everyones progress so I will try to do a few personals.
WLB Keeping fingers crossed that your two embies are sticky ones.
Rob Good luck with you eggies hope they all fertilise nicely for you.
MeredithD Good luck with EPU date.
Loops12 Welcome good luck with cycle.
Sara69 So sorry AF Arrived better luck for next cycle.
Krikkit Hang in there it will be your turn soon.
Neptune Good Luck in the TWW, Cruel Pregnyl getting our hopes up all the time.
KellyD Good luck with ET, 10 Frosties is great.
AFM Well had my BT on CD12 and results were not very good so FS pushed my Puregon up to 200IU and another BT on CD17 and this time results were better had Trigger that night and BD over the next three days so now I am on CD21 and 2 days into the TWW have to have booster of Pregnyl on CD23 and CD26 and AF will be due 4th Feb keeping fingers crossed she stays away.
Good luck to everyone and hope to see you all in the TWW thread soon.
Nae Nae - Thanks so much for your thoughts xo. I too hope i get pg so we can moan and groan at work together. Everything went ok - didn't find it too uncomfy. Just waiting now - should find out by about the 6th Feb - the day before my b'day. It would make a good b'day pressie hey!
Neptune - great to be cycle buddies with you. I hope we both get BFP. Good luck with the Pregnyl
Sara69 - Sorry you got your AF and thanks for the support with the Pregnyl. It was hard but i managed.
Everyone else - thanks for your thoughts today and goodluck to you all.![]()
Loops and Neptune - great to make it into TWW. At least there is nothing to do but hope and pray for the next 2 weeks!
WLAB - I didn't exactly "chose" MOnash IVF. Yrs ago when first needed a FS, My GP just referred me to one who happened to be with Monash and I have stuck with her ever since. I am happy with them, however. Re- emby results. At MOnash, a nurse calls the day after EPU with fertilisation results and then again on day3 if having day5 ET. On the day of ET, an embryologist comes and goes through all the results and shows piccies of the ones to be transferred. After my last cycle, when, like Neptune, every was going wonderfully until ET day and then none to freeze. I actually rang and had long chat with head embryologist about it all so they are very open to direct communication if you want it.
Kelly - great news about your growing follie. Hopefully O date comes around soon and you have 2 on board shortly. Wow, your job interview process sounds pretty intense. Do you mind me asking what you do?
Wishingbaby - best of luck in your 2ww. Hopefully it is the last one for a long time
AFM - feeling pretty down about it all today. My follies are going great guns with massive growth over 2 days despite the lowered FSH. I now have about 16 between 12-18mm with most 14-16mm.
My lining, however is terrible - left the u/s in tears over it. Hasn't changed at all in past 2 days and barely at all since first scan.
I have never fallen pg with a lining under 6mm and currently at 4.7mm. Mind you, last cycle was my best ever reaching 7mm and I didn't get pg so who knows if that played any part in previous failures.
Bless my nurse, she knew i would be worried o had already talked to my FS. They are not happy with lining but don't really have any more tricks left to help. Going to try vaginal progynova( oestrogen) but not holding any hope since my E2 is 7000 so doubt adding any more is going to make any difference. They are holding off EPU until tues to try and give it some more time. At least all my follies will be of great maturity ( prob better than last time) but really thinking if it hasn't thickened at all yet, that it prob won't change. I think the chances of getting pg with thin lining is pretty slim and I am sooooooo worried as to why and if it can ever be better. Not much point getting great eggs and embryos if there is no oven in which to bake them. Sorry to be a sad sack but really feeling my dreams slipping further and further away today.
Hi ya girls
how are we all going? i pop in every now and then i will be on more come next week as the kids go back to school YAHOO
well im starting on Celebrityslim on Tuesday and i am looking forward to it at least i have a goal to lose it lose 20kgs and DR SOO said we could start IVF so i am putting everything in to it so we can have our own lil BUBBLE BEE
sarahxxx
Oh Meridith :for you. I am not experienced at all in lining and E2, have you asked more "experienced" ivf girls on BB to see if they used any natural or medical intervention that could help thicken your lining, natropath, accu. I dont know enough to be able to help with your concerns. However, I can offer support and hope your lining thickens up for you.
Morning all
Thought I would update you on our progress, apparantly I had 14 eggs not the initial 13 they wrote on my hand, yay.
Of them 9 were mature and 6 fertilised. I go in for transfer on Tuesday afternoon and start on the crinone tonight.
Mrs M - Good luck with the weight loss just think positive and it will happen. I had to lose weight too and the best thing is just to be positive about the whole process and think of it as a lifestyle change and not a diet xxx
For everyone else I will keep my fingers crossed and will soon be seeing you in the TWW section, but I promise to still pop in here. After all who knows I might be back here again soon enough, we all know all too well in this business that nothing is guaranteed.
Take care and look after yourselves lots of![]()
and
to everyone who needs it and even those that don't.
and keep praying cause it never hurts

Meredith: I also have had lining issues, so that's why with this FET I am doing a "Fake" Natural cycle using clomid. At the scan my lining was at 6mm and with my other FET's I had to have a lining of a minimum of 9mm.
I asked as the lining wasn't where it should be at will this cause a problem with the transfers. I was advised that they would hope the lining would thicken up between now and trnasfer time but seeing as we are faking a natural cycle the lining is not a huge issue as my body should know what it has to do.....
I am hoping your lining grows for you by the time you have EPU, but at least you know that you have some good sized follicles growing and that you might get lots of frosties from this cycle for use later on....when your FS works out how to get your lining playing nicely...
re: the job, I have worked in finance all my life but due to the market at the moment there is not much available in that field so I have applied for a Customer Service role with the "Public Service", hence the need for all the checks that are required. I would think that I would have to be pretty close to getting the job if it's got down to the final stages of the interview process, and seeing over 400 people applied for about 20 jobs available I'm feeling quietly confident...
Hi Girls,
I am loving the long weekend!
Diamond - I know what you meant about concentrating at work, it can be really hard, if I am feeling really unmotivated I just pick the tasks that I like the most and that seems to help a bit, either that or I go out to lunch with a friend and that can be a nice distraction.
Krikkit - sorry about your long wait for surgery. I think you should be really proud of just how positive you are being about it all, that is going to stand you in good stead.
Neptune - So glad you made it into 2WW after your earlier disappointments, hoping they will disappear when you see that BFP!!
WLAB - Hey nice going - 2 on board - see you in the 2WW also
Sara - great to hear you have a timing plan now that AF showed up, and good luck with shifting the kilos too
KellyD - great to hear you are on track, I will be hoping you continue to progress well next week and checking in on you too. Job is sounding really promising too - it's all happening for you and I always say things happen in 3's - house, job, BFP Here's hoping for you!!
WishingBaby and Loops - well done and see you in 2WW - it's gonna be busy in there which is fabulous
MeredithD - so sorry sweetie that your lining is not playing the game, and please don't ever apologise for being a sad sack - it's better to share the worry and get it off your chest that's what we are here for. I can totally understand your immense disappointment. I really hope the vag oestrogen works hard for you over the weekend and Tues brings good news with a nice thick lining. Also hopefully you get some good frosties too. WRT lining do you have accupuncture? I have regular accupuncture and the woman I see really believes that accup can help with the flow of energy in your body so that it makes the lining aerated and 'fluffy' as she called it. I know fluffy sounds a bit weird but she thinks is very helpful for implantation. She also said that yoga or mediation that really focuses on breathing and the breath is also really good. Not sure if this helps or not....
Rob - great result and good luck for transfer on Tues - looking forward to seeing you in 2WW.
AFM - good news had my transfer today - I have 2 embies on board and hoping they are settling in well. I also had accup this morning which was great - helped me to be relaxed (although still a little nervous) but definately feeling positive. She told me to do a really positive visualisation of being pregnant and I found this very calming and inspiring. I am normally very social however, this weekend we are laying low so I can chill out - watching DVDs etc. Only catching up with one friend on Monday who had a baby a few weeks ago - so that will be nice and quiet too.
I am going to head over to 2WW now, but I will be coming back and checking on everyone. Good luck and spreading positive vibes and babydust to you all.
xx
Wow aleenta 2 on board best you do lay low and look after them just a couple of days difference but I look foreward to doing the 2ww with you. take care hun and lots ofxxx
Aleenta: Sending lots of![]()
for you to.
Hope your embies a snuggling in the fluffy lining - your acupunture lady sounds great. You Know I am doing acupuncture too and apart from the treatment I think it's just really good to have someone else next to the doctors and nurses who really knows what we're going trough and who is a positive influence.
The visualisation sounds really nice too.

Aleenta: Congrats with your 2 on board.
I'll see you soon in the TWW. There will be a few of us with 2 on board this TWW.
AFM: No LH surge as yet, but I think the hormones are doing their "thang" as I have broken out so badly in pimples and I am now getting the egg white CM (sorry if TMI). Based on calculations should be about 18mm in size now, so hopefully surge will occur in the next couple of days.
Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend.....
Thanks Rob, Sara and Kelly - the encouragement is really lovely.
Rob - look forward to you joining TWW
Kelly - Good to hear hormones are working and cheering the surge on so we can see you in TWW soon!
Thanks for words of encouragement girls.
Sadly, I am already doing EVERYTHING known to help lining including accupuncture and of all things,, Viagra. Strangely, i did the same intense stuff last cycle and had the best lining ever but who klnows, maybe none of the drugs helped and my body just did whatever it liked.
Not holding out much hope for frosties either as had none from last cycle with 14embies. Think I would prefer to just go with fresh ET and pray for a miracle. Ectopic pg's happen with NO lining so maybe even a little bit might be enough ( she says in the vain hope of believing it...not!)
Aleenta - great that 2 bubbas made it through freeze and are hopefully snuggling in for the long haul
May your 2ww be as painless as possible
KellyD - Hope that surge happens soon and you get 2 great little bubbas in there.
Wow 9mm lining would be the stuff of my dreams. Never had better than 7mm. DS and a couple of my other pg's were on 6mm lining so I think you are doing great to be at 6 with many days still to go
Happy Aus Day!! Hoping everyone is having a good one.
WLAB - yay!! 2 embies on board. Good luck hun for your TWW. Im sorry to hear your disappointment in your clinic - hoping you will not need then anymore after this cycle!!!
Neptune - good luck also with your TWW.
Aleenta - also 2 embies on board! Wow - thats great news. Good luck also with the TWW.
Meredith - Im sorry to hear your lining is giving you grief. Try to relax (better said than done) and hopefully it will improve over the next couple of days.
To everyone I have missed hoping you are going well at whichever point you are in your cycle.
AFM - had to have my purgeon upped to 225 iu, as hormones were not rising correctly. Then, Dr put me on a small amount of hcg injection to also help things along. Have been feeling awful, want to spew in the morning and NO enery all day. Work is still a struggle. But the end is near. EPU has been booked for Wed so will keep you all posted....
Take care everyone and have a great day.
