I honestly couldn't tell you if it's standard practise or not, as it's our first time!!! I suppose they just want to cover all the bases to improve the success rate ...

Us - Poor Dan had his first bad BT ... try as they might they had a heck of a time getting a sample ... first they pushed it in ... then out ... then shook it all about ... unfortunately they also hit his ulna nerve so his poor arm's feeling a bit worse for wear ... should get the results for all these BT's at the end of the week ... here's hoping there's nothing but good news ....
