Well, thats just what SydneyIVF's website claims.
HunterIVF stats given to me verbally were 50% with IVF or aprx15% with AIH (IUI), however SIVF's website stats say 50% with IVF only for under 25's.
SIVF website says IUI = $1307.50 initial costs, or $168.80 after 80% Medicare SafetyNet (if eligible).
HunterIVF says IUI = $883.50 for non-medicare people (eg: visitors) or $519.40 for medicare people - $99.40 medicare = $420.
If eligible for 80% SafetyNet = $84.
Yeah Im with SIVF, well a regional clinic and I pay a hell of a lot more than anyone else; unfortunately though is pretty much my only choice at the moment... I was told by my doc our clinic rates about 48% chance for under 30s.
So long as it works - I dont care about the cost or the statistics!
Oh & also, for those whom weren't aware (like me), there is a "Net Medical Expenses Tax Offset", whereby we can claim 20c/$1 for every medical $1 spent over $1500. Can back-claim 4yrs worth, however need tax invoices or receipts, eg: Medicare Tax Invoice (claimed & refunds), HealthFund Tax Invoice (refunds given), for PBS scripts however I'm told the Govt doesn't keep records, so have to phone every chemist you've been to & ask for a tax invoice, etc.
So total cost that you've spent less refunds given - $1500 threshold. You then get 20c/$1 back from the result, awesome huh. I'm still chasin mine, have 2 non-claimable private ops from this financial year, cost of all tests & ART, so hopefully will get a nice return. You guys would too.
Blue,
Sorry to just but in but we started at MIVF with one particular doctor and ended up changing to another that was affiliated with MIVF, I also looked into changing clinics but needed special permission by the board of "who knows where" to meet and approve the transfer with the additional fee of $767 to change. It was cheaper to stay and live out the embie transfers.
Bec
Good evening ladies and I hope you all had a good weekend.
It's been so busy in here so once again I hope I don't miss anyone. If I do, please be assured that it is not intentional.
Keen - Thinking of you for tomorrow and hoping those beautiful embryos do the trick. So glad you have some nice strong ones there to choose from. Your time is coming ... I can feel it ...
Sushee - thanks for your good wishes and I hope your TWW goes fast with a nice BFP at the end of it. It would be such great news.
Ali - I'm very sorry to hear that your Dad and FIL are both ill. You and your family are in my thoughts at this time. Please take care of yourself.
Anney - your big appointment is tomorrow and I so hope the doctor is as kind and reassuring as mine is. I'll be thinking of you.
Kelly - I used Synarel at the start of this cycle. I'm aware that it is also used to treat endometriosis as it induces a sort of mini-menopause. It's a nasal spray so very simple to use and I didn't have any side effects from it whatsoever so don't be unduly alarmed by the list inside the box. I have a feeling you may need to use it for quite a while to experience any significant changes. Not sure if anyone else found their experience with it the same as I did.
Blue - How are you going? Hope you are regrouping and feel ready to try again soon. You got so many lovely embryos that I'm sure you have a sticker among them and it's just a matter of time! In answer to your question, this was my first IVF cycle.
Ann - Good news that you are ready to go again in September and I wish you best of luck with it.
Shez, Trish, Bee, Babydreams, Shell and everyone and wishing for BFPs for all.
