Sue - Yup, I think a tree loaded with feminine hygeine products outside parliament house should draw lots of attention to our plight!! Hmmm not sure how long it takes for tampons to break down? Oh LOL - TMI warning - this story might be a bit yuk... a few months back our drain pipe got blocked - lots of yukky mess in the back yard. Anyhoo - we call a plumber who sticks down this big long arm thing that supposedly cleans out the pipes. Apparently we had tree roots growing in the pipes. When he brings the big mechanical arm thing back out of the pipe, ewww guess what is attached to the end??? A tampon, eww gross.. I was so embarrassed!!
I really dont know how the accupunture affects things. She said she works on PCO, which is caused by "dampness". So I'm taking the herbal stuff which is supposed to dry me out. The accupuncture was supposedly to work on my spleen and kidney and general circulation I think. I must say I'm really skeptical, but I'l give it a couple of weeks and see how I go. Which reminds me, I should go put the kettle on for my vomit tea.

I just upped my dose of puregon the last 2 nights and still taking synarel - I am having some spotting today. Is this normal? Will it affect my lining? My notes say you may or may not have a period at the stage of starting injections, maybe its just that the 75iu did so little and now the 150 is having an affect its just late? Help!!

I'm not real good with the technical stuff. Have you been on Synarel for 5 weeks? Groan, my nose almost went on strike after 4 and a half.
If you're really concerned, call your clinic. That's why they're there. for Tuesday. Hopefully, the upped dose is bumping things along for you and the spotting is just a good side-effect?

Thanks Sue, you're a gem. I am hoping the same. I have been on synarel for 4 weeks, I had to wait an extra week before I could start it! The headaches are pretty unpleasant, I am very over the sniffing!
I tried to call the clinic, theyre not open on a weekend (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - not real impressed with that, didn't even know! Just concerned I'll get a fully fledged period and then be left with follicles - but no lining

As for the herbal...it certainly did something to me!! I was seeing a homeopath, an acupuncturist and taking chinese herbs. Before IVF I don't O and hadn't had AF for two years so the idea of herbal was to get everything kick started. The problem was I started this just after I started all the IVF stuff. The results were amazing and noticeable right away but the problem was it was too unpredictable and as my IVF Dr was trying to get the mix right we decided to stop doing it. If I had any chance of conceiving naturally I would do herbs again, but I suppose I'd try anything if it was going to help. Cooking the chinese herbs made me gag! They were revolting - I had to skull while holding my nose then have an oj chaser to get rid of the taste. You wouldn't think herbs would have such an instantaneous and profound effect but when I started taking the second lot of herbs the very first day I started getting uncontollable blood noses which would last 30 mins or more every day. I couldn't work out what was causing them so I rang the herbalist to see if she knew and she said she had "tweaked" the herbs and obviously the mix was too "hot" for me. I found acupuncture as relaxing as having a massage. Anyway, enough garble from me...where are those muffin tins...

Then, go and put your feet up until your scan on Monday.

(but if I start growing horns or webbed feet I wont be happy...). LOL - I had to stop myself from saying, "bubble bubble, toil and trouble..." when she was mixing up my herbs. Dont think she would have appreciated the inference to being a witch!!
Kelly - I agree with Sue, go ring the after hours/emergency number. Take it easy pet and try not to worry! (yup, easier said than done)

I'm a newbie but an oldy at TTC. I'm 42, tried for 12 years with ex unsuccessfully. Now 4 years post divorce, I'm flying solo with donor sperm. Just had an unsuccessful ICSI and planning another in October (cycle that is, not the unsuccessful part)...

Well af reared her ugly head on Tuesday and has now gone for another month so i am feeling a little more cheerful. iI watched home and away last night too! It will be interesting to see if Leah does indead do IVF.
I am going to start with me chinese herbs again next week and i agree they taste and smell terrible.
Yay! I'm back. Frosty made it with a 85% thaw (needs to be over 75%). Am a little bruised and sore as the Doc had some trouble getting it past my cervix(I don't remember it being so hard last time). So I should be lying down resting but just wanted to pop in to thank everyone for their positive vibes - it worked a treat. I'm grateful just to get this far.
I shall send all the leftover thawing vibes to Tam (but shall leave some for you Trish).

My spotting seems to have stopped, theres a very faint tinge but its not like it was earlier. Fingers so crossed theyre almost breaking... I hate not understanding the WHY for things (so you can imagine how I feel about infertility...)
