    Hi everyone

    How are you all?

Lovely to see you back Happybaby (but not iykwim). Hope your stay is very short - along with the rest of us!!

Bit of a "me" post tonight. Been feeling a bit flat today. I am 40 years old today It is bittersweet. DP and DD have been lovely. DP gave me an iPad2 which is very cool. I think DD is giving me some of my favourite perfume (not sure yet! She is at the school disco!) and we are going out for dinner and margaritas. BUT 40 is such a line in the sand fertility wise. I really thought I would be UTD by now (at least I really wanted to be preggers by 40 ) That clock is just ticking faster and faster it seems. It is hard to celebrate when it is such a bad number fertility wise.

    Oh well....Sook over.

Anyhoo, hope you are all happy and have a lovely Friday night.

    Take care x

Happy Hatchday N2L I hope despite all those feelings you did have a good day and got spoilt.

I have a FS appointment tomorrow to start my FET. DH and I have decided we will t/f our last two embryos. So we are putting all our eggs in the one basket (literly) all or nothing!! I'm going to be working away for the next 8months, so we wont be able to do anything after that for a while, so we might as well go all out!

on a random annoying (funny) note... DH and I aren't going to find out the sex of our littleone until he/she is born. So we had a nick name picked out to call our baby until then. Well yesterday my dad bought a new 'pet' its one of those robotic vacuum cleaners that go around and clean up by themselves, and called it the same name we were going to call our baby!!!!! he thinks I can still use it..but I dont think I can, cause then I'll be telling the little one your nickname was afer a vacuum cleaniner =\

    what the frak!!!!
fine they all come to show their success? like a reunion? let the drs and nurses know the outcome? fine but do it down the street in a cafe not in the waiting room of a fraking fertility specialist!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Lovely Ladies
That must be hard Tei - but at least I guess you are in at the FS - your on the road and hopefully in a few weeks you can celebrate and be happy like those mums are. Goodluck!

Happy Birthday for the 17th N2L - same day as my step-dads. He just turned 60 and we had a big fun party Saturday night. Plenty of people get PG in there 40s so dont give up hun, keep trying. for you that it is soon!

HB ~ all the best with your cycle xo

JayJaye ~ Congratulations - awesome you got a natural miracle!

Coral ~ great to have you back! All the best with number 2! Hope you dont have to do another stim - that one of your snow bubs works!

Mel, JBM and anyone else I may have missed ~ hi and hope you are all well xo

AFM ~ have had a busy couple of weekends which has been great as its kept my mind off TTC for a bit - a nice break. The funerals not so good but had a great QB'day long weekend and then my families charity ball this weekend and my step-dads 60th - both fantastic nights. Starting with accupuncture again soon and DH is also going to try it, after he got his tattoo I said if he can handle that he should be able to handle acc.

Hi everyone I am still around, getting into the action bit of my cycle now!

N2L- happy birthday for the 17th!! I know you are not where you want to be, but hopefully this year things will turn around xx ( Jealous of your IPad2)

happybaby- nice to see you again, hope this antag cycle goes brilliantly for you xx

jayejaye- congratulations! Hope all is going well

coral- hi, you must be having you BT this week- good luck! We might transfer around the same time!

teriae- hopefully it will be you sitting in there with a baby soon. Will they let you transfer two this time?

Loops-haha, your DH will def be able to handle acupuncture if he got a tattoo ( although I don't have one so I don't know, but i presume it would hurt more than acupuncture!!)

AFM- had an US scan (doing FET cycle) today- interesting- the guy doing it was a trainee and really nervous, I don't care at all about having a trainee, but he couldn't find my uterus!!! I said I was pretty sure it was still in there, can't remember it falling out recently! Anyway, follies good, I've got an 18mm one so the nurse thinks I might O soon, have to start the OPKs today, then BT when it is positive. My only concern is my lining was 6mm, so got into an acu appt today to try and boost that. I am hoping the trainee just underestimated it. So here I am sitting with a bursting bladder, waiting for 4 hours to be up ( the opks they gave me need at least 4 hr between toilet visit) I am not good at holidng on- 45 mins to go!!!!

Saffy - at you being pretty sure you still had a uterus!!! Bet the guy felt like a bit of a plonker not being able to find a uterus!! Woohoo for o-ing not being far off, fx your lining gets nice and thick

Teirae - wow that sucks about all the woman with their babies - I agree, the waiting room of an FS not really the best place. Last time I was at our clinic picking up my drugs, there was a couple there showing off their baby and when they left, the nurses actually apologised to me and asked if I was ok which I thought was really sweet. How exciting about transferring 2 embies - if we have 2 ok ones, our FS may do. Will most def be pushing hard for it.

N2L - happy (belated) birthday to you, chicken, hoping you had a lovely day regardless of it being your 40th

Happybaby - good luck for this cycle - don't think I'll be too far behind you. What sort of timeframe are you looking at? I am doing a flare cycle this time so all the nasty wee jabs will be over and done with quickly, We are booked for EPU the week of July 11.

Coral - yay for trying for number 2!!! Good luck and hope all is good for your FET

Loops - glad you managed to get a bit of a break and woohoo for starting the AP. I must get off my butt to sort that out for me. How did you manage to convince your DH to give it a go? My DH has a few tatts but (strangely) is a major needlephobe so I don't think I'd get him anywhere near an acupunturist!!! How is yur DH going after his accident? Hoping he is all good now.

Well, I had the BEST phonecall today. So, I've mentioned we have had a fair bit of bad news ivf-wise over the last few weeks. Well, can't do much about DH and his DNA frag results but I have been stressing big time over the fact that my FS has insisted on me taking aspirin as part of the Colorado when I have a disorder that causes me to bleed (and make it difficult for an embryo to burrow its way in successfully). She didn't really seem interested in even investigating this disorder because I am "too difficult". Anyway, today, I get this phonecall completely out of the blue from the secretary of a kickar$e haematologist to arrange an appointment next week. I am so so relieved because now that we have this dr on board, there is absolutely nothing more we can do to help with this cycle. This guy is awesome and knows everything about everything. The sort of dr that you see and are 110% reassured that you are in the best possible hands. Finally, there is a little glimmer of hope on the horizon. Whew

    Hi all,

I have been MIA for a while as I still hsve my hand in a splint and have had been struggling with the whole TTC thing, basically in a massive slump!.

N2L - Happy belated birthday. I hope that you managed to get through it OK and so happy to see that your tests proved all is OK, what a scare for you. I sooooooooooooo hope that this will be your year, I really do.

Melissa - glad you are going to get some answers and that you will be in good hands. How did they come to call out of the blue?Do yu mind me asking what your blood condition is? I have found that I am homozygous MTHFR and also have anti nuclear antibodies and was considering seeing a haemotologist but FS seems to think that clexane on next cycle should be enough. I am really nervous about this tho.

Hi to all you other lovelies, sorry for lack of persies, but my hand isa aching just writing this short post. I hope you are all well with where you are at. Will hopefully get back in the loop (Hi Loops!)when I get this stupid splint off. It has been a shocker month, also had a skin cancer taken out last week, racking up that Medicare rebate that's for sure.

    xxx

Saff ~ also reading your post about the trainee. It's great we can laugh at these things. I hope the accupuncture went well yestie and your lining thickens - all the best, still tight. Yes I think a tattoo would hurt more than accu but I reckon a different kind of hurt. Oh well will find out soon as I'm getting a tattoo also.

Mel ~ we have some friends that also have male factor issues and they are now PG after their 3rd IVF and they both did accupuncture so I think that is what convinced DH - which is great! Thanks for asking how he is going - he's pretty much recovered, just waiting for the all clear from the physio to go back to work full time - should be no later than end of July.
That is fantastic news about your new haematologist DR All the best and FX'd tight for you! How did you find out you had this Colorado thing? Please excuse my ignorance.

Tantee ~ hope your hand heals very quickly and you feel spritely again and feel happy to really start TTC again

AFM ~ Spoke to IVF nurse yestie and she said I could have got a blood test referral from them - when I got my last natural BFP - so now I know if it happens again I can get a BT done.
Also booked in and have dates for IVF in September YAY

    Morning ladies

Well I had a stressful night last night. I had another scan yesterday which showed the follicles had grown nicely over the weekend. My FS nurse rang in the afternoon to say my lining wasn't thick enough and they were thinking of doing the egg collection and freezing the embryos until my lining was the right thickness. I spent the night worrying if it's better to go with fresh embryos with a thinner lining or frozen with a thicker lining. I had to go back for another scan this morning and I was prepared to argue my case that I still want a fresh transfer.
Anyway turns out my lining has thickened up over night is easily the 6mm recommended size so all this worrying over nothing. I'd drunk two cups of Raspberry leaf tea last night because I read it had helped. It was too late for chinese herbs and acupuncture.
So looks like egg collection is Thursday which makes this the fastest cycle I've ever done. My FS increased the Puregon from 200 to 300 so maybe this has made a difference but of course it doesn't guarrantee many mature eggs.
With my last Antagonist cycle I remember having a lot more follicles but less eggs than the first down reg cycle.

Tantee Good to hear from you, sorry you have a sore hand and hope it heals quickly.

Melissa What is the difference with the Flare cycle? Is it what we call an Antagonist with 2 types of injections? I hope you get some answers from the specialist. My FS has also put my on low dose of aspirin if I get pg.

N2L Hope you had a great b'day. I turn 40 in 18 months and I wonder if I will ever be a mum before then. It's my cutoff date as we will have been ttc for 5 years. Can't belive how fast it's coming around.

Teirae Yes that's very depressing being surrounded by new borns at the clinic. We just had to resign the big consent form for ivf treatment as our clinic likes them to be updated every 2 years. There is a section we have to consent to the ongoing treatment and research into ivf patients and children.

Saffy Glad you're going well with the FET cycle and that you still have a uterus.

Loops Yay for ivf in Sept. FX you don't need it.

Hi Coral. Jayejaye and anyone else I've missed.

happybaby- I had some lining concerns too, just another thing to stress out about Good luck for EPU- that has come around quick! My acupuncturist said that it grows 2mm a day so hopefully that means ours are getting thicker as we speak.

Loops -Sept will be here quickly, its almost July now x

AFM- sooooo annoyed at my old clinic. When I saw my nurse yesterday she said they still haven't received my DH's child protection order form, even though I have spent countless phonecalls asking my old clinic to send it ( and I don't want to talk to them on a daily basis- that is why I swapped clinics!!!!) So I was shocked yesterday to be told it still wasn't there, I thought it had been sorted weeks ago. I phoned them yesterday and the receptionist said she would fax it straight away. Well, lo and behold I just got a phone call from the new clinic asking me if I had rung them yet-WTF?? How hard is it to fax a piece of paper. The nurse must have heard the ****ed off tone to my voice because she said she would call them and sort it. I refuse to ring them again GRRRRR.

It would be easier to move interstate than post a freaking form from one clinic to another. Vent over

Thanks lovely ladies, already feels like its gunna come around fast. Hope we get good tax returns to help pay for it - FX'd.

HB ~ yay for being able to do a fresh cycle, hope all goes well

Saff ~ its so frustrating when its something so simple and no-one will just get it done. We've had a lot of the same crap with the Insurance and Drs associated with DHs accident. I feel your anger!

Loops - woohoo for being booked in again!!!! Hope the next few months fly by for you so you can jump back on the rollercoaster! As for me being on the colorado protocol, when we had recurrent m/c and implantation failure testing last year, my ana came back really high. We can't find any reason for it so just in case, we are doing colorado. Which is basically aspirin for the whole cycle, steroids and antibiotics for five days post trigger plus extra oestrogen to hopefully dampen down my immune system a bit, stop it rejecting any poor wee embies trying to burrow in . I had heard vaguely about it and I talked to one of the consultants at work who has done ivf herself and she suggested I talk to my FS about it.

Happybaby - great that EPU is so close!! Hoping you get a nice little haul. I think antagonist and microflare are different - at least that is what my little handbook from the clinic says. I have been on the pill, just cos my clinic isn't that big so I need to fit in with them but on Monday morning, I start with a teeny tiny dose of Lucrin equivalent and have this twice a day. On Wednesday, I carry on with this little dose but start 300u Puregon as well. Bit worried about the Puregon dose as for me, it seems massive. Anyway, hoping this will be short and sweet for me too. I think the theory behind this protocol is that the small dose suppresses ovulation but works with your body's natural FSH to hopefully produce more eggs. Or something like that anyway.

Saffy - grrrrr that is SO annoying of your old clinic. Did they finally send it off?

Tantee - hope your hand is starting to feel better. So much for things being less stressful taking a break, what, with that, your skin cancer and bloods. Glad you have a plan in place for next cycle regarding your results though and I guess you have a possible and treatable reason why things haven't worked so far which is great. Here's hoping the clexane does the trick next time round. I have the ana thing too, hence the colorado. This other blood thing I have is complete opposite to it though and causes me to bleed a bit too much. Its really rare (literally 1 in a million - I am special hahaha) and we are still waiting on the genetics for it. But it is either . . . wait for it . . . dysfibrinogenaemia, hypofibrinogenaemia or hypodysfibrinogenaemia. I can't even pronounce them so how could I possibly have it!!!! My sister has it as well and she had a haem referral and I think they need to see me because it is familial and we are both affected. Looking back, I think that just about every single person on my mothers side of the family has it - lucky we are a small family

A big HI to everyone else out there - Tantee and N2L at your twin hubbies!!

Six more sleeps till the jabbing begins. Bring it on

MelissaI ~ Hi! Great to hear some of your stuff is being followed up. The best of luck for your bloodtest!! and yay for jabbing next week too!!! Hope they agree to let you do 2 aswell.

Loops ~ Not long to go!! how awesome to have a start date!! =D I've never tried accu, but have thought about it alot.. I have heaps of tattoos so would be curious to see the comparrison, altho they only stick the needles in once dont they. I heard accu is pretty much painless isn't it? hope your hubby likes it=) good on him for doing stuff!!! mine seems to think a hug after i have broken down and asked for one is 'supporting'. hehe he is still a great man tho!

Saffy ~ OOO that drives me insane!! Usless people and clinics!! good on you for getting rid of them though (even though they are still messing you up!) Hope they sorted it out and you can finally be done with them! Are you close to the border?? cause NSW we didn't have to do any screening or testing or anything!! we could be druggo pros who sell the children we get them to make for us for all they know (not that we are!!!!) how are your POAS OPT going?? are you as confussed as me?

Happybaby ~ All the best for tomorrow!! Sending you all the full follicles and mature egg vibes I can!!!!! We never had anything saying stuff about further research/follow up. the more I hear my clinic seems pretty laid back and relaxed. for example the only blood tests i've ever had were my initial ones for my bloodgroup and immunity and cariolipid etc.. and then a test for my hcg. seems like everyone else has so many more and more paperwork etc.. dont know if thats good or bad, i am pretty happy with them though.

    Hi N2L! Jayejaye! Coral!

AFM ~ I started Ovulation prediction tests yesterday. I got pretty excited when 2 lines came up, mainly because in my whole life it is the first POAS test I have done that has had 2 lines!! all I have ever got before is one fat line, not even the hint of a 2nd line. so that was exciting. I'm a bit confused about them though, just like everyone else!! cause the nurse said you can get 2 lines but not be +ve, she said its only +ve if the test line is the same or darker than the control. So yesterday the lines were exactly the same as first glance but when i focused on it the test line was only ever so slightly less than the test. so im not sure. I waited til today to see if it would be darker, but todays was heaps lighter. so i think yesterday was it. I'm waiting til 9am now so i can phone them and see what they think. so based on that FET will be early next week =).
On a not so exciting note, I think our puppy is going to fall through =( first down side was we wanted a male, and we were promised first pick. well she ended up having 11 puppies (1 still born) 8 females and 1 male!! and then we were told well actually they have decided to give the owner of the dad the first pick (which i understandable) and they think it is unlikely he will pick the male cause girls are more wanted for breeding... but yea, he still might pick the boy and DH is dead set on only getting a male. that plus all my msging and calling and asking when can we check them out have been responded by 'ill find out' and then nothing.... DH said last night 'well screw them, they obviously dont want to sell the puppies we will find one elsewhere' =( we will see though...

Tei- I'm not happy with my opk either, have had only faint lines since monday, its not getting any darker and the nurse thought I would O Mon or Tues, I hope it hurries up soon, as I only have 2 tests left i think. I have never used this brand before ( its called serotec, the clinic gave them to me) but have never had a problem getting a positive before. I just want things to go right with this cycle, anyway, trying not to panic yet. What did the nurse say when you rang them? Also, I would tell those dog peopl to go jump, they sound unrealiable.

Melissa- glad you are jabbing soon, its exciting when you start. I have washed my hands of being involved in the clinic anymore, the new clinic will have to sort it, its ridiculous having to do it anyway, as Tei says.

Loos- oh yeah a tax return would be good, FX yours is a big one

hi n2l, happybaby, tantee, anyone else

FM- got a bad bladder UTI yesterday, but am on top of it already which is good, makes POAS less appealing anyway!
